A Good Marriage

Working late one evening in her office, Lizzie Kitsakis an attorney at a high profile firm received a phone call that would up end her world. Zach Grayson was calling from Rikers prison and he wanted out! Zach swore it was a simple assault charge after accidentally Striking a police officer. He mentions, as an aside, that his wife Amanda lay dead on the stairs of their home with his blood encrusted golf club prominently displayed. Swearing he did not murder his wife, Zach pleads with Lizzie to take his case.

What follows is a page turner with twists and turns that keeps the reader reading well into the night. Kimberly McCreight has written a gripping read.

At the center of the story are Lizzie and Amanda with a cast of interesting characters on the periphery. While reading this I thought I had figured out who the killer was but I was wrong. Brilliantly laid out this is a Five Star must read. I do hope Hollywood takes notice as this would make a terrific motion picture.

One of the biggest waste of time that I’ve read since Gone Girl.

What a terrific book! A Good Marriage by Kimberly McCreight was a perfect murder mystery. When I thought I knew who the murderer was, the author changed direction. I was kept guessing until the last five pages. The book flowed seamlessly and I was completely engaged with the characters. As I was reading, I kept thinking that this would make an outstanding movie!

I dont write reviews very often, but if a book knocks my socks off I make sure I do! THIS! Wow! I have read two of this authors books before, Where They Found Her and Reconstructing Amelia. Both were great, but this was awesome! The twists and turns were woven into this incredible tale where I swear every time I picked it back up the story took a different turn. I wanted to fake sick so that I could just keep reading. Haha
I was really pleased to see that they would be making this book into a show on Amazon. Cant wait! Hats off, Kimberly! 🙂

I was very anxious to read this book, because McCreight’s “Reconstructing Amelia” was a favorite of mine. Unfortunately, this book didn’t quite fulfill my expectations.
Lizzie Kitsakis is an attorney who is asked by an old law school friend of hers for representation when he’s arrested in the murder of his wife. This book goes back and forth between a group of high society friends, their sordid pasts, their children, a security breach in their child’s school’s computer system, Lizzie’s past, Lizzie’s alcoholic husband…There seems to be too many storylines going on at once, although I will say that once I got about 2/3 of the way through it kind of picked up.
