I will start my review by saying this is only the second book in this series I have read. I think if you have read the other previous books you have more of an investment in the characters and are familiar with their personalities more.
This was beautiful written. Im a big fan of this authors writing style but unfortunately I wasnt a fan of Malik. This is a story of two people overcoming tragedy and loss to find hope and happiness in each other. My first issue is when these two decide to dive in to what could be between them and Malik decides Bro Code is more important than Anna. I would have been second guessing entering a relationship after losing my husband with a man who asked me to keep our relationship a secret. He is so worried about his friends and co-workers judging them that he actually asks Anna to keep their relationship a secret. Ummm what?! I just feel if he has friends or co-workers who would be anything less than supportive of them finding love and happiness after all they have been through than they are not your friends to begin with. And it turns out no one had an issue with it anyway.
Then it comes time for Malik to go back to full field duty at work. Anna expresses her concern that shes just not sure she can deal with the risks of his job. She didnt ask him to choose and didnt give him an ultimatum. She wanted him to know that she wasnt sure they could keep pursuing a relationship together with his risky job. She had her heart and a daughter to think of and considering he was still keeping them a secret Im sure she didnt want to invest fully when he wasnt willing to do the same. This is his reaction…
And I also love her for being honest about it. If I ever wanted proof of why we are perfect together, its because of the transparency weve always had between us. Still it doesnt mean were supposed to be together.
This told me he still wasnt invested in her if he was willing to let her walk away. I wanted him to fight for her and commit to her and finding a way to make it work. Does he come around? Yes, but not right away. It takes some talking to by an awesome psychiatrist to help put him to right but still.
I just wished more for Anna and this story line. Im sure other fans of this series will get more out of this one than I did but there was too much of Malik I was never ok with.

I would say that Code Name: Ghost is one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I’ve been wanting to know what happened with Malik Fournier for quite some time and Sawyer Bennett definitely delivered with this emotional, and hopeful, story.
Malik Fournier has recently returned to Jameson Force after having been kidnapped in Syria while on a rescue mission. He certainly wasn’t sure if he was going to survive the ordeal, especially since he spent five long months in captivity. His Special Forces training helped while he was being held captive, but nothing could have prepared him for the guilt he was going to feel over the loss of two of his teammates the night he was abducted. Now that he’s back home, he’s trying to work through the emotional toll the ordeal took on him before he’s able to return to active duty.
Anna Tate has been grieving and struggling herself. The same night that Malik was captured, Anna’s husband, Jimmy was killed in the firefight. She was pregnant at the time and close to her due date, so not only was she grieving the loss of her husband, she gave birth and was learning to raise her infant daughter alone. Anna is resilient and in order to help herself, she went to work at Jameson Force as Kynan’s administrative assistant.
When Malik returns, he and Anna have an immediate bond. Much of it comes from how much they both lost that night in Syria, but in a way, they are a light for each other because there was some good that came out of it when Malik returned home. The two work together on a project since Malik is on desk duty and they grow closer still. Are they going to be able to fight the attraction growing between them or are the demons and guilt that both of them still fight going to create issues?
There was so much to love about this book. Both Anna and Malik are incredibly strong. Not even physically, but mentally and emotionally. They both went through horrible ordeals and they worked through them with the help of a professional and they weren’t afraid to talk about the hard times. I also enjoyed getting to see Malik’s brothers again, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Anna’s friendship with Cage! They have quite the bond as well and I can’t wait to see what ends up happening with him. He’s got himself into quite a pickle!
As I said to start, this is one I had really been looking forward to and without a doubt, Sawyer Bennett delivered exactly what I was hoping for Malik. So well done!

Audiobook Code Name by Sawyer Bennett
I dont know that I have ever been more excited or impatient for Sawyer Bennett to release a book than I was for Code Name: Ghost. I have been chomping at the bit for this story and my level of excitement when it hit my kindle was outrageous!
Malik Fournier has been saved. Hes finally back in the U.S. and now recovering from the months he was held captive. That changes a person, and while physically hes recovering quite well, the guilt he feels for the loss of two men is somewhat consuming. He wasnt looking for someone to comfort him, but he found her, in the last person he thinks he should be leaning on.
Anna Tate is a single mom. Shes also the widow of one of the men that was lost in the mission where Malik was taken. Shes been praying for his safe return and her prayers were answered when he was brought back. She offered friendship to Malik while he recovers, what they both got was much more than they bargained for.
I love every book that Sawyer has written, and the Jameson Force books are some of my all-time favorites, but honestly, none of them compare to Code Name: Ghost in my opinion. This book was seriously amazing, full of love and friendship, but also a little darkness. I couldnt get enough of Malik and Anna as two separate characters and as characters together. They both have been through something life altering, and while Malik experienced it first hand, that doesnt take away from the pain Anna felt either. Watching them navigate their feelings was beautiful to read. Hands down the best book in the Jameson series, and thats saying a lot because Im in love with all of them!

Audio Code Name narrated by Aaron Shedlock Virginia Rose
Another brilliant book by Sawyer.
Wow this series is phenominal. Absolutely love the Jameson Family.
Every book so far has been so individual.
Loved Malik and Anna together. They were so right for each other.
They both deserved so much happiness in their lives after both going through what they had.
Loved how the guys in Jameson all looked out for them both.

I was really looking forward to Malik’s story, and the first few chapters were fantastic.
However, after that it kind of went downhill for me. There was no more excitement, twists or surprises.
I liked Anna in the previous Code Name books, but in this one I just found her lacking and slightly tedious.
I enjoyed it but it wasn’t my favourite, or top 3, of the Code Name series.
