What a wild ride C.M. Stunich took me on in the sequel to Pack Ebon Red. I am still a little in shock after turning the final page. I thought Pack Ebon Red was a masterpiece and then Pack Violet Shadow comes along and completely blows me away. She really outdid herself! It was so worth the wait to do the story justice. Another job well done, Ms. Stunich!
Zara is such an admirable heroine. I wish I was as confident, strong, and fearless. As the Alpha-Heir, she seemingly has the weight of the packs on her shoulders trying to figure out who is kidnapping werewolves and the motivation behind it, besides what their blood allows vampires to do. On top of that, shes to choose a mate seven alphas when she really wants them all. In this book, she finally starts to join the #whychoose movement. Why shouldnt she have them all? The way Pack Violet Shadow ends, shes got more questions than answers as to the who and why of the kidnapping of werewolves.
The men that Zara has to choose fromI fell a little bit for each one in Pack Ebon Red, but Pack Violet Shadow gives us more insight into what motivates each man and their individual personalities. After the last book, I was totally a Che girl and while I absolutely loved his expression of his dominant side in this one, I also really enjoyed getting to know Montgomery, Jax, Silas, Anubis, and Tidus. Montgomery really surprised me. Considering that his whole pack is missing, including his siblings and parents, I didnt give him enough credit for how well he held up in Pack Ebon Red. He is absolutely deadly when it comes to messing with those he loves. He will do whatever it takes to get his family back and also stick by Zaras side. And did I mention that the man knows how to cook? In Pack Ebon Red, I feel like I misunderstood Nic and his role with Zara. I still loved him, but he wasnt a favorite out of all her men. Pack Violet Shadow really gave me insight into his feelings and his unconditional love and protectiveness for Zara. He totally won me over.
There is so much to unravel in the plot of this one. I may have to do a re-read because I am sure I missed a few things with all that was going on. So much action. And C.M. Stunich really upped the steam level. Oh my!! Zara is a lucky woman! The author also introduces a few new characters that I think will play major roles in this series. I am still not quite sure where Harlem is coming from, but Aeron and Whitney had me by the end! And boy what an ending that wasno cliffhanger but readers will be left with more questions as to what the vampires are up to with the witches, and how the fae play into it all. We also get to meet a few demons. Twins! Can we please have more of them?
I need Pack Obsidian Gold in my hands! Is it December yet?

Pack Violet Shadow audiobook in series The Seven Mates of Zara Wolf Series
Pack Violet Shadow continues Zara’s tale, and explores further her relationship with her men. While book 1, Pack Ebon Red, focused mostly on the relationship between Zara and Nic (while still giving us a lot of insight into the other Alpha-Heirs) this book deals with Zara’s relationship with Che (and obviously we get to see the other relationships grow and deepen). The threats they all face are intense, and Zara explores her sexuality, and her own inner power, as she decides what type of Alpha she will become.
CM Stunich creates a rich tapestry here of love and lust, betrayal and heartbreak, life and death and all the flavours and scents in between, woven through in brilliant hues that are as varied as Zara’s mates.
In Pack Violet Shadow, we get to explore not just the growing relaionship between Zara and Che, and the rest of her men (and lord knows, those men are fabulous), but also her relationships with the local witches, the Unseelie, her human friends, and various vampires.
I fell into this story, hard. I swear that at times I could feel the bite of snow on the air, the crunch of leaves under my paw, the warmth of my mate’s breath against my muzzle. The story practically leaps off the page and envelopes you in it’s jaws. It’s exhilirating and powerful, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll race to buy the next in the series, Pack Obsidian Gold, just to recapture for yourself that amazing feeling.

Audiobook Pack Violet Shadow by C.M. Stunich
Holy moly, what a great follow-up to Pack Ebon Red by C.M. Stunich! Once I started this book I could not put it down (helped improve my day since my flight was delayed and I had to be in the airport an extra 4 hours unexpectedly). In Book 2 of the Seven Mates of Zara Wolf, we get to learn more about the war that is brewing between the different paranormal factions. We get some questions answered but more are created which is awesome/makes it a great page turner. I don’t want to give anything away, you will just have to read it for yourself!
I love Zara as a MC. I loved her in Pack Ebon Red but I love her more after Pack Violet Shadow. She is trying to keep it together with all this stress/life threatening events going on in her life, on top of dating 7 guys at once. I loved her tenacity, but admire her more now that she is showing more of her vulnerable side, especially with Nic’s reactions in the book. And OMG, the moments btw Zara and her guys are incredibly hot/steamy, I can’t wait for more! I don’t think I can choose one favorite at this point. I had my top 3 while reading Pack Ebon Red, but this book shook that up haha. If I could be any MC I would kill to be Zara and get to have all these 7 sexy guys in my harem <3. I am so happy CM took her time with this one, it really was spectacular. I can’t wait to read more books from this series; CM does it again with amazing characters and a thrilling story!

Audio Pack Violet Shadow narrated by Conner Goff Veronica Pace
The story continues with Zara and her mates. Pack Violet Shadow picks up where Pack Ebon Red left off. Zara and her mates are charged with finding the missing werewolves, and it is not going to be easy. In fact, a vampire and witch war may be on the horizon for the weres if Zara isn’t careful.
You get a lot more action, a lot more intrigue, and, yes, a lot more steamy scenes between Zara and her mates. She lays claim to more of her men, and her wolf is not playing around, they are hers.
These books are so fun with a little hot steaminess thrown in. The plot is great! The writing is fantastic! I am stoked to get started on the next book (Pack Obsidian Gold).

A much faster paced read than the first in the series, I enjoyed every page of this!
I have throughly enjoyed seeing how Zaras various relationships, regardless of type, have progressed and changed a long the way.
Initially I felt like this was going to be an Instalove, which although I dont mind, can get a bit samey. However, the author has somehow straddled the middle line here, and it works wonderfully. Although all attracted to one another, the relationships build gradually, and are helped by the situations they find themselves in, with revelations and lessons along the way.
I love the fact that each of the Mates has an entirely different personality, and are easy to tell apart. I also, surprisingly for me, enjoyed the varying ages of the Mates, It made it feel more realistic somehow. Given the situations they are each put in, it would have been strange for them all to wind up the same age.
The plot line is unpredictable, and I love how we see people from each of the groups, Fae, Vampire, Witch etc, gradually coming into play, learning more about their worlds and cultures as we go.
I have to say, after the slow start to the first book I was wary as to whether I was going to enjoy these, but I am well and truly hooked now! The second book is so different to the first, but I can now entirely appreciate why the start was slower, with the amount of cultures and backgrounds to give for each Character, and various situations having more relevance as the story goes.
This may easily become a favourite RH series!
