Very open account of his journey and for anyone who claims the title outdoor enthusiast. Great reminder to the risk and rush of our natural world.

Super interesting, especially since I have been to SME for a week of skiing. That part I really enjoyed. It kind of changed to other stories and almost a live story. I was more interested in the \”buried\” part since I knew some of the victims. However this was only about one third 9f the book.

I thought it was more about the avalanche, guiding, and life in the mountains. Instead Ken wrote a lot about his personal journey through struggles and challenges on the way to find out what his life is all about.

Buried is the most profound \”outdoor\” book I have ever read. Ken Wylie painfully lays himself bare as he writes about his life, climbs, misadventures and loves in the quest to be his own man, to discover himself, to be honest with himself. Buried is so much more than another adventure disaster book, though the central theme about an avalanche incident that buried him and killed 7 clients provides a rich and fitting metaphor about one\’s life choices and their consequences, especially emotionally. If you are an outdoor hardman who knows it all you should read Buried. It will probably save your life. If you are feeling lost, abandoned, regretful…. this well crafted, evocative and brutally honest book will help you find a way out of any crevasse that (you think) has swallowed you up.
