Hattie Brown versus the Elephant Captors (Hattie Brown Series #2)

I was so excited to receive this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my review. This second book in the Hattie Brown series is once again full of danger, adventure and fun.
In this book Hattie and Arthur are pulled back into Somewhere-Nowhere where they realize they need to save their elephant friend Victor. Join them on this dangerous but exciting adventure to save him and defeat Lord Mortimer.
Along the way they meet new friends, new enemies and discover even more about themselves than they ever would. I can not recommend this book series enough for late elementary and early middle school aged kids.
I love using my imagination and this book allows you to do just that. Claire Harcup has created a fantastical story and land that you never want to leave.

Such a colourful story you feel you’ re really there in Somewhere – Nowhere land. The plot and story telling really draw you in – it would be lovely if they made a film of the books. It’s difficult to decide on our favourite characters – so many to choose from – The Knowledge Worm, Lady Violet, Victor or Bench? Not to mention the heroine/hero Hattie and Arthur. My children loved it and we listened to the first two audio books, non stop in the car in the summer. We can’t wait to listen to the third and final instalment when we can drive long distances again. Beautifully written. More please!

Lovely to see all the characters from book 1 return and develop, especially Bench! Hattie is a great central character, determined, loyal and brave.
