This is the 2nd book in the Warrior Chronicles by Breene. There are six books in this series right now. For some reason I didn\’t enjoy this book quite as much as the first one in the series. The writing was actually less awkward than the first book in the series. Unfortunately, I thought that things moved too slowly and nothing much happened in this book. I listened to this on audiobook and the audiobook was well done. The narrator does a great job with emotion and character voices. In fact I think I probably like listening to this book more than I would enjoy reading it because of the well done narration. The book starts with a brief rescue mission in which Shanti rescues her brother and ends up with a mysterious old man tagging along as well. After that our characters spend the whole book traveling to the Shadowlands and it was predictable and boring. We do meet a couple interesting new characters (mainly Shantis brother and the mysterious Old Man). However, the travel was pretty boring and even the battle scenes seemed to have lost their urgency. The story about the Chosen and the Wanderer was expanded on some. The series seems to be building towards some sort of trial that Shanti will have to undergo when they get to the Shadowlands (if they ever get there). Overall this has been a fairly typical fantasy series with a somewhat awkward writing style. I am unsure as to whether or not I will continue the series. When I finished this book I wasn\’t chomping at the bit to read more about these characters and/or world.

Hunted (The Warrior Chronicles #2) audiobook in series The Warrior Chronicles

This is a great series, I have read all the books..Ms Breene has created a fantastic world with great characters and a story filled with action, humor (Saunders is my favorite secondary characters of all time in this genre, what a hoot) and some g great sexual tension between the lead characters.. Caitlin Davies is FANTASTIC. She not only does male and female voices beautifully, but all the characters are done with individual distinction ..BRAVO!! Ms Breene and Ms. Davies….. Please!!! Audible!!! put the whole series out in Audio format..

Audiobook Hunted (The Warrior Chronicles #2) by K.F. Breene

Mild spoilers: the main character has regressed. book one she is determined to save her people, at one point she fights off an invasion force for several hours killing hundreds. in this book she keeps complaining that she isn\’t strong enough to succeed and struggles to win small skirmishes of 10 and 20 people, even with allies helping her. disappointing.

Audio Hunted (The Warrior Chronicles #2) narrated by Caitlin Davies

I am so very glad I began this series. I purchase based solely on the suggestion of my amazon profile and appreciate the suggestion. The characters in this book are truly growing and build their strengths along with trusts in the prophecy. The h/H are not instantly in Love but form a friendship pushed by forces beyond their knowledge. It works well when you have believable characters whom are not perfect but stumble. Trying to do what is both expected and right for their people. Can\’t wait to see what else is in store

Free audio Hunted (The Warrior Chronicles #2) – in the audio player below

The general plot of the story is intriguing despite being pretty run-of-the-mill for a fantasy novel. This and the fact that it is free with my Audible subscription are why I keep listening. If I had paid for the first book, Chosen, I would have returned it and not made it to this one. The writing is awkward, juvenile, and confusing at times. The characters are generally interesting but not written with much finesse. The dialogue can be painfully awkward and unrealistic at times. This writer does way too much telling and not enough showing. The performance of Caitlin Davies is really great except for the fact that she speaks incredibly slow (Ive been listening to 1.3x speed which helps) and becomes robotic when talking as Shanti. If you enjoyed this series, wanted to like it but was disappointed, or just need something new to check out I recommend Sarah J. Mass work. Particularly her Throne of Glass series as it is semi similar to this series.
