Dirty Talk (Get Dirty #1)

*sigh* Im not sure where to start. Lets start with the positive. The story has a lot of promise. I wont rehash the synopsis, but I liked the premise and the characters were likable enough and they certainly had chemistry. The story was a little predictable, but overall it could be a fun read. Now the not so positive. Ill start with the fact that the book ends at 39%, the rest is comprised of bonus content, which is NOT listed in the description. Had I known this was the case, I wouldnt have purchased the book. Its deceiving to open up a book, get started, and think oh, I have 60% more of the story, this is going to be great! Only to have it stop. Next is the editing. There are some serious problems with subject/verb agreement. Examples: Well, there was a few requirements… Is there any limits you wont cross with him? The meeting continues, and while theres a few times… The errors are riddled throughout and it was distracting. I honestly was shocked to see an editor listed because there were so many errors. Finally, the sex scenes. I got to the point where I was skimming because I was bored. There comes a point where it is perfectly acceptable to fade to black and this book needed it. I read erotica, but at some point this book moved from erotic to ridiculous. I hate leaving critical reviews but I think its only fair that readers know what theyre getting into. I know that multiple sex scenes are a huge selling point for a lot of readers and that is perfectly fine, but if someone is looking for a little more substance, they need to know that this book is not exactly the place to get it. This is the first book Ive read by this author and Ill give her another try, but this book was just not for me.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Derrick King is at the radio station reviewing tonight\’s topic for his show. Also known as the Love Whisperer, Derrick gives out sex and relationship advice. Tonight\’s topic? Cheating. After developing a #1 app, Katrina has been promoted at work. She also finds out some disturbing news regarding her boyfriend Kevin. Kat decides to call in to Derrick\’s show for advice. Upon hearing Kat, Derrick immediately feels protective of her and wants to help. As the call progresses, Derrick finds himself intrigued with Kat and wants to know more about her. As the days pass, Kat listens to Derrick\’s radio show and becomes more and more infatuated with him. They exchange numbers. Up until now Derrick and Kat have been sharing heated conversations over the phone. Now it\’s time to meet in person. Kat is going into this with her eyes wide open. Knowing that the fairy tale is looking less and less likely for her, she decides this casual fling is what she needs. Derrick, on the other hand, is looking for his soulmate. Just when they seem to be connecting on a deeper level, Kat\’s old insecurities take over. Derrick comes from a loving, caring family and has always pictured his future as such. He\’s smart, sexy and totally head over heels for Kat. Kat comes from a broken home and has seen lots of heartbreak. Her confidence and ability to trust has been shattered by past relationships. She\’s convinced there are no good men left in this world. Derrick knows what he wants and he\’s prepared to prove to Kat wrong. OH. MY. GOD. THIS BOOK WAS SMOKING HOT ! ! ! GRIPPING DIALOGUE WITH AN ORIGINAL STORYLINE THAT KEPT ME INTRIGUED ! INTOXICATING, UNDENIABLE CHEMISTRY WITH INTENSE, MIND BLOWING SEX ! ! ! SEX ON STEROIDS ! ! ! AWESOME FROM BEGINNING TO END ! A DEFINITE MUST READ !

Kat didn\’t have high expectations with her boyfriend Kevin but she certainly didn\’t expect for find a picture of his privates with another woman on Instagram. Needing a little advice before she confronts him Kat calls into The Love Whisperer radio show to talk about what was going on. Derrick is used to some crazy relationship stories but when Kat calls in he feels drawn towards her and asks that she call him after the break up to let him know how it goes. Kat loves that he calls her Kitty Kat and when she calls him back she tells him its his Kitty Kat which Derrick loves. First they chat through text messages and face time then its progresses to them meeting face to face in an explosively hot encounter. They started their relationship backwards but both want more than a one time thing so they start dating. Kat worries some over Derrick\’s co worker because of the way she flirts on air with him but doesn\’t want her trust issues to wreck what they\’ve started. Kat and Derrick will face some thing that try to derail their relationship but will they make it out to the other side together? I loved this book! I couldn\’t put it down I was drawn into Derrick\’s and Kat\’s world and didn\’t come out of it until the end. This was an amazing story with great characters. With each book Lauren Landish writes she creates a world that her readers fall in love with and characters we want to be friends with. If you haven\’t picked up any of her books then this book will make you a sure fire fan. Another five star hit. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. I also bought my own copy because I loved it so much.

If you like a dirty talking man then I cannot recommend this book more. This book draws you in from the start and I for one couldnt out it down. Kat is out celebrating her new promotion with her best friend when she discovers that he boyfriend of a year has been cheating on her. In her heart of hearts she knows that she needs to dump Kevin but calls in to The Love Whisperer who just confirms that she is doing the right thing. They connect straight away and Derrick gives her his personal number to call if she needs to talk anymore. Kat follows his advice and calls to update him and thats when things heat up. Derrick is a popular DJ and his love show is taking off and getting bigger every day. Hes flirty and there is something about Kat that draws him in from the start and he feels that there is something special there. Derrick believes in love but he can tell that Kat has been hurt by men before and he knows he will have to go slowly to get her to open up to the possibility that this is going somewhere. But as always there is always someone hanging in the background to make things difficult. This is one hot little number thats fast paced and will get you hot under the collar.

Wow what another fantastic book by a great author Lauren Landish,it tells a story of Derrick( aka The Love Whisperer king)who has a phone in radio program who gives advice on love, relationships and all aspects of sex, single himself and happy to stay that way and Katrina(aka Kitty Kat or Kat) who phones in for advice after finding out her boyfriend has cheated on her, the chemistry between them is electric sending tingles down the phone line and there begins a very steamy sexy and oh so dirty love affair both on and off the phone, no spoilers here.Derrick and Kat\’s life soon become entwined which was unusual as they both had trust issues.Can they both have a happy ever after? Is someone not as they appear to be? Get the book you will not be disappointed. I was given this as an ARC via Hidden Gems in exchange for an voluntary honest review.
