Im all about second chance romances, and even enemies to lovers, but this one was just so hard to read. I get that Remi was dropped like a hot potato by her fiance two weeks before their wedding. Heck, if I couldnt get a refund on my honeymoon, Id go off with my bff and make the most of it, too. I even get maybe hooking up with someone to get back at your ex. However, I dont get her outright hatred and disregard for Dax. Is he cocky? Sure. However, he shows true concern for her time and time again. Instead of recognizing his genuine concern for her well-being or seeing how he gravitates towards her, she keeps reflecting back on something that happened three years ago! As if people, especially those in college, dont change and grow up. I just really didnt understand how she kept flippantly tossing him in the douche-bag column, when he was anything but. Another thing that really REALLY got me angry was the fact that she decides to get back with her ex. You know, the same guy who not only dumped her before their wedding, but also had a picture of him on social media with some random chick on his lap with the hashtag #StudyBuddy, ON THEIR WEDDING DAY!!! Then to throw your new relationship in Daxs face, and get in a mental hissy fit and stomp your princess feet around when he gets fed up with your shit and talks to another chick. What do you expect?! Youre back to being engaged to the guy who dropped you not even a month ago! I just, cant. I could not handle Remis character. At. All. There were other things that took place but I feel like those are massive plot twists that would be huge spoilers. Just know that, AGAIN, Remi dropped the ball. While Dex was a mess with mommy issues, Remi was a hot mess who could not make a decision about anything. There was just way too much unnecessary drama, and the majority of it didnt even make sense.

Looking at going back to college for a fifth year to complete a four year degree, Dax Blay is feeling somewhat lost. Even if he does manage to graduate, he\’s got no real idea what he might do with the rest of his life, and the idea of continuing on to get a post-grad qualification doesn\’t appeal at all. Spending his summer break in London with his rock star cousin, acting as a kind of sober companion after Spider came out of rehab, at least affords him the opportunity to take some time out from the pressure to figure out what comes next. Remi Montague is on her honeymoon … single. The man who she\’d thought was the perfect balm to her broken soul didn\’t leave her at the altar though, no he was quite gracious in breaking things off a whole two weeks before the wedding, though still not early enough to get her all of the deposits she\’d paid out back, which is why she finds herself, with her best friend Lulu in tow, also in London. Attempting to drink her way past her most recent heartbreak, in the dark, in a nightclub, wearing masks, and nearly 4,000 miles from home, fate nevertheless sends the man who broke her in the first place into her path, and thanks in part to that alcohol, in part to the unfamiliar heels, and in part her own clumsiness, she falls right into his lap … literally. In a fantastic tale of two broken souls fighting against fate Ilsa Madden-Mills brings all the feels. There\’s drama and heroics, heartbreak and cowardice, love and hope set against a background of death and despair. And one devastating secret. I loved everything about this book. Dax, who despite his brash over the top persona is just as lost and afraid as any little boy who misses their mom. Remi, so driven and focused, determined to go after what she wants in life even if she\’s not always sure what that is. Lulu bubbly and cheeky even if at times she\’s a little too flighty for anyone\’s own good and Spider, enigmatic and far too jaded for someone with such a pure heart. As an added treat, once everyone heads back to college in the States, Declan and Elizabeth who readers will know from Dirty English come into the story as well. I said in my review of Dirty English that it was an order of magnitude better than Ilsa\’s other works, even though I loved them all, and Filthy English forms the perfect companion piece even though it can clearly be read as a standalone. Perfection.

Little did she know her carefully ordered world is about to turn upside down. Dax Blay is back in London helping his friend Spider out for the summer before heading back to Whitman College. Dax spies a sexy brunette with legs for miles that he wants to me. One whiff of this sexy stranger and Dax is lost in old memories he can\’t deny even if he tried too~Remi. Dax never thought he\’d have a chance to be with Remi again yet this is the perfect opportunity. Can Remi let go of the past? Can Dax be the man that Remi needs? Your answers await you in Filthy English. I had some issues with the female lead in this book. She had what I like to call wishy washy moods. She was all over the place. The hero was often times clueless to what was going on around him. Don\’t get me wrong I liked the story. It just didn\’t measure up to the first quite as well. I\’ll continue this series to see where it goes from here.

Good God, These boys make me proud to be British. I didn\’t think Dax could win me over, I was all for Declan but I was wrong…I absolutely loved him. He pulled at my heart strings he was vulnerable under all that Cocky exterior. As we know Declan his brother had settled down with the love of his life Elizabeth while Dax was happy just playing the field. He\’d felt something once, even if he hadn\’t admitted it to himself. He can\’t handle having his heart broken. Losing a person he loves. So putting on the don\’t give a damn attitude suited him fine. Then she walked, well stumbled back into his life and his whole world spun on its axis. He\’d lost her once, that wasn\’t going to happen again. Remi having just had her heart broken, stumbles into Dax a blast from her past. The one that\’s always been out of reach, the love em and leave em player. She\’s always had feelings for Dax, but kept them to herself. He never seemed interested in taking it further. He always had a new girl on his arm. Eventually she moved on, tried to forget him. But fate brought them back together. I love the story between these two. Things are never what they seem, secrets, truths and heartaches are revealed. Can they ever work out the past, to have a future together? That you will have to find out for yourself. This story was so addictive, I couldn\’t put it down. Highly recommend you give these English boys a go. You won\’t be disappointed. 🙂

I loved Dirty English but I adored Filthy English! Who knew that underneath the Sex Lords playboy exterior was a true heart and so much depth! Dax Blay was my Achilles heel, my one vulnerability. Remi had spent three blissful nights with Dax in her freshman year only to have her heart broken. She walked away from him and pretty much ignored or avoided him for three years. Shes guarded her heart with a safe fianc and a plan of how her life will play out. However, her safe fianc makes a decision that throws her plans into disarray. She was everything I never knew I wanted in a girl, except I couldnt have her. I didnt do relationships. Dax goes through women like hot dinners theres no room in his life or his heart for a serious commitment. But, Remiwell, shes the only woman whos ever walked away from him, and hes never been able to forget her. A chance meeting miles away across the pond in London makes them question everything about what they feel, what they want, and what theyre willing to fight for. Adored this novel! The chemistry between Dax and Remi was amazing and thrilling! I loved the irresistibility between them. It was crazy hot! However, it was the tender moments that really got to me. Such a great story and thoroughly recommend!
