Hard Rock Tease (Darkest Days #1)

Book 1 in the Hard Rock series about the hard rocking band, Darkest Days.
Noah F***ing Hart is the lead singer and lyricist of the biggest rock band around but when the band decides that each member should contribute 1 song to their next album, a concept album, Noah’s writer’s block kicks in. In walks Jennifer Young, young and fresh out of college.
Noah has a big backstory and lots of baggage. He doesn’t smile and pretty much has a consistent black cloud surrounding him. Jen also has a backstory. Their interactions aren’t always good but in the end they make it work. This is a really good love story. Lily, who will reappear in book 3, is woven into the story.
Good start to this series. I am presently starting book 5.
Edit: I finished the series and other than some editing issues, it is excellent. I would recomment it to anyone. My only complaint, other than editing, is many sex scenes read like they are copied and pasted from one story to another. These guys are rock and roll sex gods and sex is a favorite activity among them.

Okay so I was a little hesitant to start this book. Firstly, this is the first time Id heard of this author (shame on me) and secondly, how can you make a book about a rockstar romance interesting? I am happily proven wrong. I LOVED Hard Rock Tease. It truly reminded me of any time I think about my favorite band and how I assume they are in real life. Athena completely took every emotion Ive experience with music and threw them all into an amazing piece of work. It is obvious that she loves both writing and music. I am completely in love with Darkest Days and need to know everything about these rock stars. Noah was exactly how I pictured a lead singer, lyricist god, cocky, arrogant and a little bit of a misunderstood jerk. And Jen was so sweet and kept quite her wits about her for fangirling so hard. As stated, this is every fan girls dream. But tastefully done, even though theres so INTENSE sexy scenes. They were 100% worth it. Im officially hooked and will be totally reading the entire series.

As a writer myself, I hate to give any kind of low rating. Yet, I have to give what I feel is best for the book. While I typically love rock star romances, this one didnt keep my attention for the first half of the book. It seemed to drag and didnt keep my interest. While I did finish the book, it took several days to do so. I almost quit reading it as a result. However, I try to finish any book I start. In the end, the second half of the book was much better than the first. Also, it felt like the angsty, non-trusting Noah was almost too much. It was hard to like him at all, especially because there was only Jens POV. It felt like Noah was shoved in our face too much to try to show his struggle. It would have been great to show more of his softer side to see he had it as it was mostly lacking. I was only going to give this book 3 stars, but Ive upped it to 4 stars because the last half of the book was much better.

The story definitely had its high and its low points. The digital copy had a ton of grammatical errors that drove you bonkers and distracted you from the story. I also get that Rockstar bad boy was a complete A&@ w/ trust issues, but seriously how he treated Jen was awful and she deserved better.

Awesome broody, egotistical rock star romance. The blurb gives you the basic info about this book. It is also part of the Darkest Days Box Set. The main characters Noah – the singer of the band and Jen a young woman who gets to help her rock idol write a song. Each of the main characters have difficult pasts that make them who they are. There is some intrigue and suspense in this story. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Wright.
