Rescued audiobook free

This will be my last one of the series unfortunately. I used to really enjoy these books but now I’m struggling to even get through them, because basically every book is EXACTLY the same. Edna hates to work, Hike is negative, Pete and Vince want free beer, Marcus is scary but doesn’t talk, and Andy wants to sleep with Laurie every night. Nothing new, ever. No new characters, no new character development, just the same basic description of each character gotten out of the way early on. He doesn’t even try to work those ‘quirks’ into the story, he just now simply explains that to the reader like he is just catching everyone up so he can put character development to bed as fast as possible. Check!. Even the cases have gotten boring. Write the same book, throw in the same character cliches, wrap it around a so so new case and voila, another book is written. Time to find a new autho

Audiobook Rescued by David Rosenfelt

Rescued is the 17th Andy Carpenter mystery and another winner for sure. Even though it’s a mystery, there is laugh out loud humor throughout this imaginative book. I have read and loved all the books in the series but I’m sure you can jump right into this one and have an enjoyable read. Loved it.

Really liked the story. This is my first Andy Carpenter book and I plan to read more. One suggestion is to eliminate most of the comedy. He’s just not funny at all. Maybe to a 13 yr old but not to most adults. Really corny and it only interrupts the story. If I were the editor I take out 90% of the “humor” and play it straight otherwise a very good writer.

Audio Rescued narrated by Grover Gardner

I loved “Rescued” — Andy Carpenter is a great protagonist and David Rosenfelt has set up another “whodunit” with Andy rescuing the dogs and finding the bad guys. I love the characters in this series and Rescued delivers another set of great characters, some returning from the previous books (I love the Bubalah Brigade) and some (especially the bad guys) new to this story. Well worth the read!

This is another exciting book in the Andy Carpenter series. While in some ways it follows a plot ending in line with some previous books in the series, nevertheless it is still captivating. And after reading so many books in the series, I feel like I’m also visiting old friends. Andy Carpenter, his family including the dogs and friends are all either likeable or at the least amusing. Thank you, David Rosenfelt!

I have read most of the Andy Carpenter books. This one, like the others, is a simple caper that does not take anything too seriously, including the occasional body. Andy has a roster of unlikely super skilled friends who are nevertheless enjoyable to see again and his relentless self abatement clever albeit somewhat weird since the reader is always reminded that he is a great lawyer. A reliable plot for this one but maybe Rosenfelt is running out of fresh ideas as it is very predictable although I realize many readers like that. Carpenter, like the author, is a dog lover so dogs are more set decoration but are not really part of the action.
