Absolutely adored this trilogy!! Despite its fantasy, magic, and teenage elements, it avoids being entirely derivative. Stroud skillfully crafts a genuinely unique world with multi-dimensional and captivating characters. It’s a real gem in the genre!

The Golem’s Eye audiobook
I thoroughly enjoyed this second installment of the Bartimaeus series. While the young human characters, Nathaniel and Kitty, play a more prominent role, the presence of Bartimaeus, the 5,000-year-old surly djinn, still adds a special charm. Personally, I find Bartimaeus to be the more captivating character compared to Nathaniel, who remains arrogant and a bit of a toffee-nosed dandy throughout the book. Stroud once again showcases his talent for seamlessly blending action, and even elements of horror, with humor. Overall, it’s time well spent, especially if you loved the first book.

Audiobook The Golem’s Eye by Jonathan Stroud
The trilogy is absolutely fantastic. I read it years ago and recently gave the audio version a try, which turned out to be just as enjoyable. It’s one of the few books I would gladly re-read without hesitation.
