Great story with fantastic twists! Really couldn’t put it down…
EXCEPT, I have an issue with this whole Lyr situation.

*First book spoilers ahead*

Salem is great, super wonderful and all but, now bear with me – I think Lyr got a raw deal in this book series.
Aenor and Lyr built up a relationship in the first book and in the ending he seemed like he really cared about her. He gave up a part of his soul just to save hers!! I was super disappointed to see him go all wooden and become just a wisp of a character. I get that he has lost parts of his soul and has changed but why are we not addressing that also? His missing soul pieces should have a bigger role. He deserves more in this story.
Just kind of bummed me out.
I will forever be Team Lyr (Dont get me wrong -Salem is adorable too. )

Fallen King audiobook in series Court of the Sea Fae Series

I just could not get enough of the wanna be bad boy Salem… Was he all murdery and wrath and evil for a time yes he was. But I found the history of how he became unhinged and why he was obsessed with destroying Aenor for what she did believable and compelling. I loved that as with everything in life there is always two sides too every story and we almost never really fully understand both sides unless we try. I was both amazed and heartbroken to understand both stories and see a truly fated love unfold. I am dying to find out where this goes and how it all plays out.

Aenor’s story continues from book in fear as she waits for Salem’s to come for her as each cryptic message terrifies her nire then the last because she begins to understand at least in part the meaning if the fruit and the power it would hold over her.

On top of her desperation to avoid that fate Lyr has seemingly blamed her for the shattered and lost part of his soul that he willingly gave up for her.

Was it more terrible then he expected? Did he suffer more then he felt it was worth? Did he do it out of obligation to help her and not love so he resented her… We simply don’t know. We are left as saddened and confused as Aenor herself. Watches as he pulls away and proves he does not trust her and wont allow her to get back her magic.

For me I’d rather embrace every evil flaw and learn to tame the devil I know and feel I’m truly safe and loved despite my own deep and terrible truths. Then be hated and feared for what I may do with my own gifts or for the simple fact I am not good enough to deserve a sacrifice freely given. I would have freely jumped out that window too and been to hell with that I’ll live or die at Salem’s hands at least he clearly spells it out for her. I also believe every devil still always has hidden goodness within. So even Salem is redeemable.

This book is very complex and adds many layers to each character both past, present and with glimpses of an unknown future. I literally couldn’t sleep and read it in one sitting then again the next day… Yep total zombie but so worth it. I can hardly wait for book 3.

So many absolutely awesome unknowns and I want to know them all.

BUY IT DEVOUR IT!!! GET THE ENTIRE SERIES….. Whoo that felt good yep I loved it!!

Fallen King audiobook by C.N. Crawford

This book has it all! Im not even kidding; humor, emotion, smexy times, C.N. Crawfords exceptional dialogue, and an emotionally damaged bad-boy with a slightly dirty mouth. The only bad thing about this book is that I couldnt wait to read it and I finished it all in one sitting. Even though it didnt end on a traditional cliff-hanger, it left the me very anxious to read the next book.

I dont want to give away too much with the review so I will just say that the writing is excellent, with few (if any) grammatical errors, the dialogue is always fantastic, and the characters are beautifully broken. There is humor and silliness without it being forced and overdone, and conversely, there is a depth of emotion with these characters that has left a bit of a hole in my heart after reading. They have successfully pulled me into their story and I am invested in their HEA. That being said, I will be impatiently waiting for the next installment of this series!

Fallen King audio narrated by Justine Eyre

I did not see this book going down in this way, not after book 1. This author made me fall in love with Lyr only to do this to me. And my Salem…I love that we have no idea how the books will end up. This was fast pace and heartbreaking and I need more.

Salem is the bad boy you can’t help loving. Aenor’s story continues from book 1 with foreboding as she awaits Salem’s vow to come for her.

This book answered questions and brought a lot of growth to Aenor’s past, present and possible future with plenty of heartache and new questions unanswered. It’s going to be really hard waiting for book 3 to see how the author can top this book. If it wasn’t for the need of sleep I would never have put this book down for the 3-4 hours that I got before picking the book back up.
