The Killer’s Shadow: The FBI’s Hunt for a White Supremacist Serial Killer audiobook free

Over the years I have read every one of pioneering FBI profiler John Douglas books on his life and serial killers. Every book has amused me (a definition that must be understood in the context of his writing style) educated me amazed me and repulsed me if for no other reason than its hard to comprehend what the L-rd had in mind when he created everything from Hitler to the ongoing subjects of all of Douglas books.

This episode centers around Joseph Paul Franklin an anti-Semitic racist and unfortunately highly successful another tough term amid such horrific and non-human-un-G-dly destruction of precious human life. Franklin killed at least twenty-two innocent people simply because of the color of their skin or religion. And as you will learn he was the most cowardly of the types of serial killers because over the course of your education from Professor Douglas from this and all his books you will be taught that sniper assassinations keep the most cowardly among the diseased serial killers from having to interact with their victims up close and personal. In addition to the long range sniping this inhuman degenerate also cowardly blew up buildings.

Douglas which he is wont to do takes you back to not only the beginning of this stain on the human races abusive childhood but the author constantly goes on his trademark storytelling tangents relating to other serial killers such as Big Ed Kemper BTK The Atlanta Child Killer and countless others to make various points. Some points are to show you how this serial killer is similar to that one or how this one is technically different or how some traits are and some arent the same mixed within one or another killer.

He even takes the time to describe the uniqueness of Charles Manson which I feel is worth sharing with a potential reader:

MANSON NEVER KILLED ANYONE HIMSELF. WHAT WAS TERRIFYING ABOUT HIM, THOUGH, WAS HIS ABILITY TO ATTRACT SEEMINGLY NORMAL, MIDDLE-CLASS FOLLOWERS AND INSPIRE THEM TO DO HIS MURDEROUS BIDDING WITHOUT ANY QUESTION OF CONSCIENCE OR PANG OF REMORSE. THIS IS A POWER BEYOND THE ABILITY TO KILL. EVEN AFTER THE TRIAL AND HIS INCARCERATION, HE INSPIRED ONE OF HIS FOLLOWERS, TWENTY-SIX-YEAR-OLD LYNETTE ALICE SQUEAKY FROMME, TO ATTEMPT TO ASSASSINATE PRESIDENT GERALD R. FORD IN 1975. SEVENTEEN DAYS LATER, FORTY-FIVE-YEAR-OLD SARA JANE MOORE ALSO TRIED TO ASSASSINATE PRESIDENT FORD. THEY WERE THE ONLY TWO KNOWN FEMALE PRESIDENTIAL ASSASSINS IN AMERICAN HISTORY.

This is the type of remarkable insight that is included cover to cover and is almost hypnotic. Douglas is like an octopus simultaneously dealing out Serial Killer Playing cards with all hands simultaneously.

One personal note: after every Douglas book I read I find myself at least once during each waking hour stating out loud or to myself UN-SUBUN-SUB”… UN-SUB for at least two weeks after completing the book.

The Killer’s Shadow: The FBI’s Hunt for a White Supremacist Serial Killer audiobook streamming online

One of my favorite authors, John Douglas (with Olshaker) goes into detail about possibly the most prolific serial killer in American history. And his murders were based solely on killing Jews and any white person who would even consider dating a black person and vice versa. If he even saw a male and female of separate races talking, he would kill them like a sniper, with long range weapons, hoping to start a race war.

At the end, Douglas ties this kind of killer (and there are more and more of them) to the increased propaganda online and a president who encourages these groups to use violence to act out their hate.
He makes it clear that these killers are losers with absolutely nothing worthwhile going on in their lives, whereas their victims were good people with great lives ahead of them – nurses, teachers, people who helped others and were killed by this lowlife before being able to complete their important work on earth.

I learned q lot from this book. The writing of this team is always compelling – John was one of the original FBI profiles and mindhunters, who understands the mindset of such killers better than almost any other living person.

His research and ability to find patterns and connect the dots are legendary and he takes you along with him through his adventures.
I hope he writes a lot more because everything he has to say is especially important during these fraught times where even the president threatens civil war, and the barriers have gone down that kept most people from becoming violent.
Maybe this and other books will take the sheen off of violence and show it for what it is – cowardly acts perpetuated by loserd.

Audiobook The Killer’s Shadow: The FBI’s Hunt for a White Supremacist Serial Killer by John E. Douglas Mark Olshaker

Nothing is so dangerous as a religious fanatic who believes he’s doing the Lord’s work. That pretty much sums up Joseph Paul Franklin a racist who found it unbearable to see mixed races together. I have read previous books by the two authors and once again found myself having to skip over areas that were too disgusting. That’s my fault and not the authors.

Joseph Paul Franklin truly believes himself to be a devout Christian but, as the authors state, would Jesus want his followers to go hunting Jews and Blacks? Yet he believes he is ordained by God and telling himself that this is what Jesus would want. Here’s the sentence that jumped off the page for me: ” He, Mr. Franklin, has psychologically inoculated himself against the charge that what he has done is wrong or evil, so he need not have any remorse or regret about any of it.”

Unfortunately Mr. Franklin was not alone in such beliefs and it is indeed frightening that who knows how many others are running around loose in our society. The authors bring out comparisons with David Berkowitz (Son of Sam), Dennis Rader (The BTK Killer), and the fictitious Hannibal Lector.

The book written by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker are not comfortable reads nor are they meant to be. However, they give us some insight into some of the individuals in our society.

Audio The Killer’s Shadow: The FBI’s Hunt for a White Supremacist Serial Killer narrated by Holt McCallany

Two of the best true crime writers in the business, former FBI profiler John Douglas and acclaimed author Mark Olshaker, continue to enthral readers with the latest of their fascinating stories. This time they draw you into the gritty reality of lone wolf racist fanatics who believe it is their God-given right to promote their cause through murder and mayhem. The book is timely as law enforcement agencies across the nation continue their pursuit of violent right-wing bigots like Joseph Paul Franklin – the subject of this book. Central to their work is the story of how Douglas became central to the nation-wide manhunt for the racist sniper. Fascinating and chilling.
