Silent Bite audiobook free

Andy Carpenter is one of my favorite snarky characters. I like the whole crew in his “adventures” as a retired lawyer. Because he’s anything but retired (especially if his friends or wife have anything to say). However, while the mystery in this novel has a good twisty ending, Mr. Rosenfelt lost his usually zingy characterizations. Felt like he phoned this in. Even the dogs are trite. But if someone enjoys this series, do read it. If you’re new to Andy, please try an earlier book. Sorry to be negative.

Silent Bite audiobook in series Carpenter Series

I love Andy Carpenter. Unfortunately, this is the same story with a new title, and I’m kind of done with it. Here is my advice to David Rosenfelt: this happened to John Grisham, too. Grisham wrote a masterpiece (A Time to Kill) that demonstrated his writing chops. Then he wrote another barn burner (The Firm), continuing to demonstrate his chops. Then he wrote The Firm again, and again and again. and again and again. Fortunately, he woke up and smelled the coffee and began to find a new line. So, David, use your talent to write a different book. I will be there for ya.

Reluctant lawyer Andy Carpenter is back, along with wife Laurie, son Ricky and world’s greatest dog, Tara, plus the usual cast of characters we have come to know over the course of the previous 21 installments in this series. This time the defendant is a reformed ex-con charged with murders he swears he did not commit. Andy’s friend Willie, who knows the defendant and believes his claim of innocence, persuades Andy to take the case. And so we begin another quest for truth and justice. Andy and crew investigate the crime, prepare for trial and present the defense as they try to unravel a tangle of conflicting evidence and determine the identity of the true killer before the case is sent to the jury. Andy Carpenter mysteries are reminiscent of the best Perry Mason cliffhangers, but they never take themselves too seriously. The implausible coincidences and farfetched explanations make for an entertaining story, while the outcome is never in doubt. But who cares? The breezy tone and the recurring cast of familiar characters make these stories such fun. I can hardly wait for number 23 and number 24, both coming out later this year.

Audio Silent Bite narrated by Grover Gardner

I love Andy’s sense of humor and ability to see his way to the truth in these courtroom thriller mysteries. My love extends to his cast of regular characters including the canine ones. I know I always have a great reading experience relaxing in my recliner or on the backyard swing with my tea and the latest Andy Carpenter mystery.

I have read the entire series up to this book so far. I like the books for a very easy read. Sadly, the stories are become very repetitive. The story line follows the same general sequence of events in each recent book. There have been a few character changes but characters to not grow and neither does his description of those characters. The part that the guy is supposed to be a wise cracking lawyer that judges and cops do not like is really worn out. The same descriptions and plots in each recent book. Also, the repetitive dialogue is so boring to read over and over. It is like, yeah, I know, you just said that in the previous chapter and now I am reading it again. It is like he needed 10 extra pages and just decided to repeat everything. Speaking of pages, the chapters are short and deliberately leave half pages empty often in order to make the book longer. cheap trick.
