i read most of the “PREY” series years ago. I am getting the same enjoyment now. John Sandford just knows how to put a good book together.
it is almost like being right there, I am now in the process of trying to read all the books again before I kick the bucket, I’m only on book 5 and I’m 78 years old. wish me luck.

The book is a well done sequel to Eyes of Prey, the first novel where Lucas Davenport locked horns with the manic pathologist, turned gruesome serial killer, Dr. Bekker. Dr. Bekker has escaped to roam the streets of New York continuing his rampage. In addition there is also a team of killers preying on random victims as well.
There are actually two stories within the novel.
Davenport teams up with his old flame Lily and her new boyfriend to pursue Bekker. All the while the madman commits one sick killing after another.
The pursuit of Dr. Bekker is action filled, has twists, but is fairly straight-forward, The pursuit of the other killers is wrought with twists, turns, and surprises. Davenport is his typical self; far from perfect. He has a new flame in this sequel, Barbara Fel, who is a handful herself

Audiobook Silent Prey by John Sandford
I am an ardent John Sandford fan. I recently purchased and read the complete Prey series and then the complete Flowers series in order, and I’m only sorry I’ll have to wait for the next book in both series. Sandford is a novelist with the rare ability to carry over characters and plot elements with complete believabiity while allowing both to develop in interesting, unexpected but natural ways – the only other “serial” novelist who does this nearly as well is Anthony Trollope, and he avoids murders. I re-read these books with pleasure as great or greater than the first reading because the fast-paced narrative and unexpected plot developments pulls you to read fast the first time; the second or third you can pay attention to atmosphere (he’s great on significant landscape detail), character growth, and situation development. Sandford writes like a real novelist, not like someone trying to impress academia with his literary exclusivity.

Audio Silent Prey narrated by Richard Ferrone
This is another author that I love and I now have every Prey novel he has written…police stories are one of my favorites and Mr Sanford never fails to deliver excellent ones….you don’t have to have read his novels from the first one through to enjoy the stories…but I bet you once you read this novel…you’ll definately want the rest of them

I was quite pleased to come across this treasure of a novel. Its been some time since I last read this author, but he never fails to please. The rich, real-life characters made connecting with them inevitable. The well-crafted plot had twists and turns you would not foresee. There was non-stop action, heroism, betrayal, sex and maybe-love, certainly valued relationships!
