I read most of the books after getting hooked on the Murder, She Baked television series. I still picture Hannah as Alison Sweeney. The books are full of writing flaws and the dialogue can be a bit stiff at times, but there’s something about the setting and the characters that are still warm. She does occasionally use very politically incorrect language, and the fact that Hannah is only supposed to be 30 and has absolutely no knowledge of cell phones, big screen tvs, or computers is maddening. the whole storyline is completely illogical in most of these books, but there’s still a fun read.

Devil’s Food Cake Murder series Hannah Swensen
I loved the entire series of which this book a part. Hannah Swenson is an attractive character in the series and her friends are interesting. You can’t go wrong reading a Joanne Fluke novel.
How does a murder mystery get any better? Throw in a love triangle Nd some delicious recipes. As clean as the air in Minnesota in the winter

Audiobook Devil’s Food Cake Murder by Joanne Fluke
While I agree somewhat with others who have read and reviewed this book regarding the ongoing love triangle of Hannah, Mike and Norman, I did still enjoy the story and will likely read more of this series as I get the chance. While it would be greatest to read them in order, which I haven’t, there is not a real need to do so. Enjoy them!

Audio Devil’s Food Cake Murder narrated by Suzanne Toren
I love this whole series and am almost done with it. I got hooked on it while reading Diane Mott Davidson’s Goldie the Caterer series. It’s a challenge to try and figure out the killer before reading it. I like that there is no explicit language or steamy sex scenes, also.

I found this book comical with lots of laughter in the story but also lots of recipes. Why? I brought this book as a murder mystery not a cook book. Not everyone wants to bake even if they read cosy cooking theme books. I enjoyed the story and the characters were interesting . I especially enjoying reading the bar scene with the family involved to find out information. Entertaining book to read .
If you’ve read previous books in this series then you’re not going to find anything new in this one.
For me, I think it may be the last one I bother with. The ‘relationship’ between Hannah, Mike and Norman is beyond a joke now and Hannah’s becoming more Jessica Fletcher-esque with each book!
