Oh my goddess! I love this exciting, fun novella! There’s lots of fast-paced action, interesting takes on Arthurian legends, steamy hot love scenes, and, of course, blood. This is part of the Their Vampire Queen series, so blood and violence are in a lot of scenes. If you haven’t read the first books, then I strongly suggest starting with the first book, Queen Takes Knights.
This is Gwen’s story, which coincides with some of Queen Takes Triune. Gwen is a sibling queen to Shara Isador and manages Shara’s New York City nest. Gwen is also a descendant of Queen Guinevere of Camelot. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll just say that some of the characters are present but with very different roles. It makes me want to read some Arthurian legends again and watch some movies, too.
I love how much action is in this story! The tension builds wonderfully, there are battles and obstacles, so the climax is fabulous. I also enjoy how reincarnation is used. Each person’s past-life memories are fascinating. Their many lives together make the usual instant love of a queen’s Blood more believable to me.
I really hope that the rest of the Knights of the Round Table find Gwen. Some might have to be born again, but my imagination is ablaze with the possibilities!

This is the start of a thrilling retelling of Camelot, with Guinivere an Aima queen. The original story was magical and complicated, and Burkhart immediately had me itchy to jump to Wikipedia to remind myself of the details. She’s clearly done her homework while making this story uniquely hers.
Queen Shara Isador has left Gwen in charge of the former House Skye, and she is the ancestor of the original Guinivere. There’s a curse in place, and she and her knights are anxious to gather before they die like many times before. It has all the wonderful magic of Burkhart ‘s prose, taking you deep into the minds of these long lost lovers. I kept going back and forth reading Wikipedia to see the differences, and couldn’t stop reading. Gwen is ready for a big moment, and more is definitely to come.

Audiobook Queen Takes Camelot (Their Vampire Queen #5.6) by Joely Sue Burkhart
Okay. If you have followed along with this series, Gwen is a sibling queen to Shara Isador and manages Shara’s New York City stronghold. Shara was able to break the bond between Gwen and the NYC queen when Shara killed her. If you haven’t read any of this series start with book 1 Queen Takes Knights to find out how Shara got started and how later on in Shara’s journey she takes Gwen as her sibling queen. It’s a great and addicting adventure.
This is Gwen’s story and if you have already read Shara’s journey then you know what she wants-Her Blood, Her Knights. Gwen is a descendant from the legendary Guinivere of Camelot. And she is finally able to call her Knights after 400 hundred years. We get a refresher on why she hasn’t gotten her Blood sooner. As a Queen, her Blood make her stronger and powerful. So her battle with Arthur Pendragon who turns into a red Dragon comes to head. She is ready once she retrieves her final Blood, Merlin. It is a memorable story that you never want this to end. The love, passion, loyalty, devotion, and sacrifice make these books worthy of reading. These characters with their unique personalities carve their way into your soul and subconscious and leave you feeling bereft without the constant feed. Amazing. The old world feel versus the modern age is interesting.

Audio Queen Takes Camelot (Their Vampire Queen #5.6) narrated by Cassandra Myles Tristan James
This was a fantastic addition the the Their Vampire Queen series, and finally gave us Gwens story!! I absolutely loved all the aspects to it!! I dont want to go into too much detail for fear of spoilers, but let me say Merlin is not what you are expecting, Arthur is the biggest misogynistic pig, and Gwen is more of Guinevere than you could ever guess. This was a fun, easy read that further expanded the universe the Aima live in.

Long Live The Once and Future Queen!!! I am so happy to finally see Gwen story unfold. We get to see Gwen reunited with her guys it gets a little dark there for a minute but long live the queen. This book was a little short but it definitely delivered on the promise. Now I am going to say this I appreciate a very happy, bloody, epic ending. The king is dead long live the queen.
