It’s absolutely eerie how Konkoly writes about disasters right before they happen. Great characterizes and plots with well thought out action. A cross between Tom Clancy and Bobby Akart.

Audiobook Alex Fletcher Boxset by John David Farrell
Easy read, well written, timely storyline. Scary believability as to what would happen if the US was ever hit by an EMP. Great character development. Hope nothing like this happens in my lifetime.
Overall, I enjoyed this series of books dealing with a well-prepared ex-Marine trying to help his family and friends through first a pandemic and then a major event wiping out much of the infrastructure in the northern USA.
The narrative is reasonably credible (and prescient, given the global Covid pandemic!), but holds many of the bigger picture answers tantalisingly out of reach until the final book in the series. The author prefaces this last book by saying that it’s intended as a wash up, and it does provide a bit of hasty closure at the end, but I’d still like to know what really went on in Washington and elsewhere, and if the measures in place were really legitimate, or the actions of the Department of Homeland Security abusing its mandate as frequently suggested?

Audio Alex Fletcher Boxset narrated by Cris Dukehart
This series will keep you reading, wondering what is going to happen next. Is it realistic? I have no idea. Not familiar enough with military capabilities but can I imagine it or something similar happening? Sure. Just hope I’m not around if it does.

Unrealistic view toward use of deadly force. I the author has mitary experience but writes like a “woke” liberal. In a disaster like a pandemic as described in this book …bad guy shows up ,bad guy threatens wife and children…..bad guy dies.
A real page turner that keeps you guessing what’s coming next with plenty of twists and turns in a well plotted action filled series.
