The Prefect

This book was already released as The Prefect in 2007, NOT a new story. I don’t know what this is supposed to be, but i returned for a refund, supremely disappointed.

This was released earlier as “The Prefect,” and this is the same book with a new title and cover. I don’t know why anyone would do that but it should be prominently included in the description, right under the title.

I already own “The Prefect.”

I bought “The Prefect” (both print and Kindle) in 2009. I thought this book “Aurora Rising” thinking that it was a new book by the author about the original character. However, it is the same book! I think a disclaimer should be attached alerting customers that this book was published originally as “The Prefect.”

Ordered Sept 30 – very carefully checked publication date – April 2020. started reading it a week ago only to realize I already but this book under its previously released title The Prefect. And now the return window has closed, so I am out 8 bucks.

Looks like I’m not the only one to get tricked, wish I had read the reviews.
I love all my Alastair Reynolds books.
Saw I name I did not have so ordered it.
Turns this is an old novel named “The Prefect”, some where they decided to rename and remarket it.
As soon as I started to read, It sounded familiar, by page 2 I was sure.
