The Bjorkland family and townspeople of Blessing have returned in a wonderful story of love, forgiveness, joy and completeness. I have read the entire series and they have become like famiky members due to Ms. Snellin\’s adept character development. While reading, I felt like I was transported into Ingeborg\’s kitchen. Highly recommend this author and the series. Thank you, Lauraine, for touching my heart with the love of God. Blessings

This book really tied the entire Red River series together. It also wove together the families from Minnesota and North Dakota. Ingeborg\’s friendship with David Gould progressed with him owning a house and living part time in Blessing. His children refused to ever go to Blessing as their mom had poisoned them against the town. David began to see that having money and servants doesn\’t always make one happy. .This book also addressed what happened to minor characters like Manda and Augusta. Karaan started the series weak and sick from having just given birth She ended the series weak and sick but her illness was never explained. My only complaint would be that like many of the previous books in this series the focus is on Thorliff\’s family. Andrew and his family and Astrid have a very minor characterization. I guess as the author wanted to tie up the loose end of life after Elizabeth\’s death. All in all a really great ending to a spectacular series. She even apologized for the 4 month release delay. I strongly recommend this book

Audiobook A Blessing to Cherish (Red River of the North #7) by Lauraine Snelling
Minor spoiler warnings… Overall, a lovely conclusion to a series I have been following for nearly 15 years. The characters are like family, even more so because the story parallels that of my own ancestors and their emigration story to the Red River Valley. I predicted before reading it that the story would center around Ingeborg and David Gould, and while initially unsure how I would feel about it, she tied them together in a very sweet and satisfying way. My one criticism, and this is a general criticism I have of Snelling\’s writing, is that she tries to cram too much into a single novel. As other comments have alluded to, she introduces completely new characters that her long-time readers have no emotional connection to. If she had chosen to do an epilogue series of 2-3 books, rather than a single book, I think it would have worked better, but it was clear from her author\’s note that this is the end for the Blessing series. I would have liked less emphasis on the brand new characters and more emphasis on some of the deeper issues between Ingeborg and Gould as they navigated their evolving relationship. But even despite that criticism, it was overall a great read that I would definitely recommend for any lovers of Snelling\’s work.

When Lauraine started writing this series we lived just a few miles from where the fictional Blessing would have been located. She was spot on with describing the area and the weather. She did have the trains going in all the wrong directions but you would never see that unless you lived here. But Lauraine pretty much covered the happenings of an entire family for several decades out on the open prairie of Dakota territory. This was the final book of a multi- book series – or was it several series – and she wrapped it up nicely but sadly left no other places to go for her fans. Thanks Ms Snelling.
