Accidentally Hers (Sterling Canyon #1)

good book, characters, storyline, & very well written. i didn\’t see in the book descriptions or the reviews that this series contains explicit sex scenes. description & reviews looked good so i bought all three books in the series. mistake to get all three without reading the first. I prefer to use my imagination about the intimate details. it just feels a little too peeping-tom like when the sex scenes are spelled out. so, i skimmed a lot. the st. james series looks good too but no ratings found there either so i guess i\’ll pass. too bad, good writer.

I read some of Ms. Beck\’s recent books and enjoyed them so when I saw this on sale, I grabbed it. Avery is a physical therapist who must treat the guy her brother ran into after he\’d been drinking. Grey is an athletic guy, owner of a back-country ski and climbing business and having a bad knee could tank his business. There\’s Avery\’s family, her ex, and Grey\’s past relationship to get in their way of any possible romance. This was a disappointment. If I\’d read it first, I probably wouldn\’t have continued with this author but her later books are terrific. Grey\’s troubles are the best part of the book in that they present some reality; should he sue Avery\’s brother which means the whole family will lose their home? It\’s all tied up pretty quickly at the end, but most of the characters didn\’t engage me. Read the later books is my advice.

Sexual scenes are too many, too explicit & add NOTHING to the plot. I will not read any more of her stories.

Loved this book! Great plot, wonderful characters that I just fell in love with, and a quick, fun read. The only thing I didn\’t love was how quickly the conflict was resolved. Everything was literally resolved in 2 pages, which considering the depth of the conflict, was a little short to me. I wanted Avery to work a little harder to get back into Grey\’s good graces. Other than that, the book was very enjoyable. I like Beck\’s writing style, which made the book a quick read. I can\’t wait to read the book #2!

Sorry I am just not into books that go into the sexual scene in so much detail. I think doing so is absolutely unnecessary! Just ruins the book for me.
