I have no idea where the title of this book came from. There isn\’t even a metaphorical \’mermaid\’. The plot is even more contrived than the first book. The characterization was pathetic. The giggiling and squealing veteranarian acting like 12 year old was highly unrealistic and honestly, the prince could have fallen in love with the gold digger just as easily because they were written with the same finesse… none.

This isn\’t really my genre, but sometimes a story comes along that I really do enjoy. And the first book was actually really good. I enjoyed the entire thing so I was excited to buy the next book and read it, too. As a lover of animals I was glad it was this prince and a veterinarian. But I just couldn\’t do it. I tried. Several times. I made it a couple chapters in, but the dialog was forced and awkward and down right painful. I had to give up the book. I paid money for it! I liked the first one! How did the author manage to make a good book, and then make the next painful to read? Sorry, but, this is just a big fat no for me.

Not sure where the Mermaid title comes from. Not even a hint of the Little Mermaid in this story. I just could not get into this book like I did the first in the series. Darbnix and Rose get their HEA but just not in a very interesting way.

Well this is a no brainer loved this story as much as the first one. Book 3 is next must see what is going to happen in the next book.

Interesting story, but I didn’t finish as it had too much sexual details/language I prefer not read.
