First, lets just take a moment to admire the cover. I love that we have both Lyre and Clio on it! Lyre is seriously right up there with Rhysand in the book boyfriend department.
The Blood Curse completely exceeded all my expectations for the conclusion on the trilogy. I loved that even after eight books in this world, there are still new daemon castes and places to discover. If you are new to the series, the world includes: Earth as well as the Underworld and the Overworld which have their own unique caste of daemons.
As with the previous books in the series, I love that Annette Marie takes a unique approach on various a daemon castes you may have come across in other fantasy books. They are both recognizable and excitingly new. The magic is also really interesting and unique (in my experience) in this series which made for some pretty epic fights in this book and over the course of the series.
I also really appreciated that through our the prequels, but The Blood Curse in particular, you see the origins of a lot of the relationships that are already established in Steel and Stone. It was interesting to see how those friendships/relationships developed but also added an additional layer to what you thought you know about them. One of my favorite moments was when Lyre helped Ash sleep which reminded me of just how young Ash was in comparison. The dynamic between Lyre and Ash in Steel and Stone is so much fun that I really loved getting a glimpse of how it all began.
Another aspect of The Blood Curse that I really enjoyed was seeing the growth of the characters from learning to trust others and themselves to finding their own inner strength and realizing they are more than just their daemon nature. Clio in particular really comes into her own and finds balance between being a kick ass heroine and the naive nymph.
The Blood Curse was fast paced and non-stop action, creating what hell of a ride. Our beloved characters never seem to catch a break and overcome challenge after challenge. Yet they always seem to keep fighting. In the midst of all the chaos, there were also some beautiful and heart-felt as well as heart-wrenching moments that gave me all the feels. And the ending! It ripped my heart out and yet somehow left me with a smile and some hope. Definitely read the bonus epilogue for even more feels.
Then this news… there will be an upcoming Steel and Stone sequel series!!! I am so excited to see what Annette Marie has planned for this new adventure in Black Fire. Fingers crossed it’s out soon!

I literally just finished reading this third installment of the Spell Weaver series and I couldn’t waste anytime before starting this review! I am just so blown away by the ending, I can’t even explain! First of all, I am going to admit that I had to go back to the beginning to remember where this book started off because I have been on a roll with this series that it’s all just one big adventure! That is one of the amazing things about this series and Marie’s writing; it is all just one big adventurous movie playing inside of your head. There are no holes or gaps that will make you question the storyline.
I have touched on the character development and the storyline and plot twists in my previous reviews and there is no change in opinion. What I do want to focus on, is the build up of this incredible writing. I honestly stopped reading for about two weeks because I just couldn’t bring myself to face what was happening and what was going to happen! There was such a build up to the suspense, the urgency, the excitement, the action! And it didn’t stop there because even after, there continued to be more build up and more action in between right up until the end! I can’t even begin to explain how well written the plot twists and storyline developments are written. You never see them coming, and you probably couldn’t figure out how it was going to play out even if you guessed it. I am just … blown completely away with the conclusion of this series. I just got my hands on the bonus epilogue so I’m bracing myself for that.
One thing that I will say; if you like this series even just a little bit, I highly, highly recommend reading the Steel & Stone series by the same incredible author, with Ash and Lyre in it. You won’t be disappointed. I read that series first and I could not wait to start this series. That whole going back to their back story path was excellent. I enjoyed and everything makes so much more sense. But if you read the Spell Weaver series first, it’s going to be just as great. I am so invested in this series and this world! I would love to live in this world, just definitely not as a human. I cannot praise Marie enough, thank you for providing an escape for this college student!

Audiobook The Blood Curse (Spell Weaver #3) by Annette Marie
This is the third and final book in the Spell Weaver series and I enjoyed it. While I didnt enjoy this series quite as much as Steel and Stone, it is still a very fun read.
In this volume Clio and Lure finally trackdown the KLOK device that Lyre made and which can destroy all magic and potentially the world. I loved the relationship between Clio and Lyre and really enjoyed some of the magic and action in here as well.
We get to see even more of Ash in this book and more Ash is always something I love! The series ties up nicely and I excited to read the follow up series that is supposed to be set 10 years later.
Overall this was a well done finale to this series, it was a quick and fun read and I enjoyed it. I read this on vacation and it is the perfect type of book to read on vacation; quick, easy, fun and exciting. Annette Marie does a great job writing urban fantasy series that very entertaining and action-packed. I would recommend if you enjoy light urban fantasy with a lot of magic and some romance.

Audio The Blood Curse (Spell Weaver #3) narrated by Greg Tremblay Jorjeana Marie Melissa Moran
I really loved Lyre and Clios trilogy! The ending was truly bittersweet. The character development was fantastically done. Seeing Ash and Lyre friendship develop filled in so many questions from steel & stone. Along with Lyres backstory and family. Some things I would have never guessed seeing as how in steel & stone nothing is given away- looking back now it was hinted at repeatedly. Well done Annette Marie Id never pieced it together. I honestly couldnt tell you which couple I love more. Piper and Ash or Lyre and Clio. Theyre are both so different. The action in the book and descriptions where amazing! I always fall into Annette Maries addictive worlds. I cant wait for the steel & stone sequel to see all four together.

I get goosebumps every time I read one of Annette Marie’s books and this one was amazing. It was written beautifully and wrapped up the series with a bittersweet ending that again leaves you wanting more. I’m kind of sad this has ended because it now means waiting for the sequel. I think out of the 3 of this series this one was my favourite because you got to a lot more of certain characters and got a lot more of their background. The insight in to their whys on certain things, the action that bounces through the pages. I always feel like I’ve been transported to their reality. Once again amazing.
