Bray has given his voice to this novel and when it comes to narration, Bray is second to none. His expression, tonal quality, and overall performance were just as per the requirements of such a book.

The Alien Legion is seen in this novel with a new mission in hand. Thus time, they are at work for the enemy. But, they were also working against the enemy. Just like every other operation that Emily Perkins has ever planned, this one is complicated as well. The programs for their success require top-notch intel. When their plans fall apart then that was the time for the Mavericks to be in freefall.
A lot is happening in this novel with a lot of new challenges for the Expeditionary Force. It has the potential to grab your attention right from the start and you will continue with the same enthusiasm till it ends. Some people believe that things are repeating from chapter one but they were a lot of new things as well. At places, it was felt that the story was dragged and it could have been a bit shorter to make more sense out of it. This was just one side of the opinion while the majority of people find it quite entertaining. Not to forget the superb performance by R. C Bray who made this audiobook so much audible.
