Kendall Ryan\’s taken the arranged pregnancy romance story line and given it a touch of You\’ve Got Mail, the Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan hit film. Emmett Smith is a bit of a playboy, but there are reasons why he doesn\’t do committed relationships, misplaced as those reasons may be. Same goes for Jenna Porter, but she\’s got pregnancy on the brain, especially with her being in her thirties. She isn\’t looking for the hassle of dating and meeting \”the one\”. She doesn\’t need to settle down with a man in order to have a child together with him. She may have decided to go to a fertility clinic, but getting stuck in a stalled elevator with Emmett has her taking a whole different direction. Jenna\’s need for independence had her wanting to be more clinical about their approach, but Emmett brought out the more \”fun\” side of things by insisiting they do things the old-fashioned way. We\’ve got the usual not-falling-for-each-other-but-then-they-do is present in the story, but then they\’re supposed to fall in love! That\’s why it\’s a romance. We want the happy ending. I do wish, though, that the author had done things a little differently. Maybe added a twist or two to allow it to stand out. That doesn\’t mean, though, that I Ryan didn\’t satisfy with this standalone. She did. As far as the narration goes, Sebastian York did sound as if he was dialing it in at times, but kudos to Virginia Rose for her work. Baby Daddy is a four-star listen. ♥

This book was sexy to the max! Kendall\’s writing draws you in with ease. I don\’t know how to describe it… It is written in a relatable way- not showy with fancy wording- but using slang or funny sayings I would use. She can put a witty enjoyable spin on anything. I adore these characters! I don\’t like giving away plot so all I will say is that I was yelling at them the whole way. I thought the plot was awesome- definitely something lots of women can relate to. Absolutely loved it! Narration was fabulous! It passed all my criteria for what i like in a narrator. Voices were clear- pleasing to listen to- read with feeling and soul- I have ZERO complaints!

Audiobook Baby Daddy by Kendall Ryan

The female characters has no depth. She is just needy and whiny. I could barely get through this book. At first she comes off as prim and proper but that is really a farce. She is demanding and not really a nice person. The male character just goes along with what she says for no apparent reason but sex. The story lines leaves something to be desired.Save your time and leave this one on the shelf. Jenna was seriously bitchy, I didn\’t understand how she could get upset with male character about something that SHE herself did not disclose, just like another reader had stated, she is a selfish, whiny, and bitchy person, it has to be her way or no way. The male character, he has changed and a huge growth, but Jenna, she didn\’t want to change, and only blames it on men. I wish the author had worked on the female character better for Jenna…I do not like. all in all, I felt the male character didn\’t have to do anything.

Audio Baby Daddy narrated by Sebastian York Virginia Rose

Kendall Ryan is trying to break me! I had a feeling this book was going to be an emotional rollercoaster for me and it was. It hit me in all the feel. I think anybody that’s ever tried to conceive and not been successful, at least the first time is going to identify with Jenna, the main character. It was handled so beautifully, so realistically that I just, having been in a similar situation, it just hit me, in all the feels I guess, and I think Kendall put a lot of heart and soul into that aspect of the story. I felt like I was there with Jenna, that her lows were my own and her highs, well, I got to experience them with her too. It was beautiful. It still has all the hilarious and sexy stuff that you, which is great, but the emotional aspect, for me at least, put this above the others I’ve read, I think it might be my favourite Kendall book to date, I know I’m a little behind, but after reading a good few, I think it’s probably my favourite. I love Kendall’s writing, it’s smooth and captivating and doesn’t drag. If there is a scene it’s because that scene makes sense to the story, that scene is going to move the story along, it’s not filler, there isn’t a lot of that in Kendall’s books, it’s not just there to increase the word count. Each scene has a purpose. I love that, and it makes it easy to read. Not everyone is going to like the insta-lust aspect of this story, and you know what? That’s totally fine, everyone likes different things, I actually really liked it in this book because to me it made sense for these characters to meet and start their relationship that way. This book has all the feels. I’m still thinking about it, I loved it so much. The cover, swoon, holy forearms! Oh, my days! I have stared a little too much at this cover just gazing at the forearms, this might be my favourite Kendall cover yet. And, of course, I love that it includes the narrators names. I like to see at a glance who is going to be entertaining me. These characters are great in this book, the way they interact, obviously, it’s hilarious because Kendall does humour very well. Some of the things that happened whether it’s the way the characters interact or how situations unfold is really funny, but it still has that emotional aspect to it. Jenna and Emmett are all the things. I adored them together, they made such a perfect couple from early on. Of course, if they realised that it would have been a super quick book. Haha. I loved how they interacted with each other, it was light-hearted and funny, but also sweet with a deeper connection. The sexy times were super sexy. Jenna was a strong independent woman, she knew what she wanted, and she made plans to make it happen, I loved that about her. She’s the type of character you wanna be friends with, I actually saw a lot of myself in her and that made this a very different experience for me. A great one, but different. Some of the aspects of this book hit close to home. Emmett was such a sweetheart, I loved him, the way he was with Jenna was sexy and sweet. Everybody needs an Emmett in their lives, a man that will allow them to be themselves but also take care of them. There is a twist/ conflict, which I’m not going to talk about much, just to say, we know what the twist is, but the characters don’t, when it comes to light, I’ll be honest, I wanted to punch Emmett in the balls because he didn’t handle that the best he could, it was resolved quickly and not dragged out. The ending was everything I hoped it would be. This dual narration by Sebastian York and Virginia Rose was wonderful. Their voices complemented each other well. They give these characters life and really nail it. You just get lost in the story. Virginia Rose was absolutely fantastic. Her performance was beautiful. Her male voice is swoon-worthy, and I thought her performance of Jenna was fantastic, she conveyed her tough but vulnerable personality perfectly. I loved the emotion she showed and the ease of which she switched between different characters and situations. It was a pleasure to listen to and I look forward to hearing more. When I found out Sebastian York was one of the narrators, I was kinda like, again? I like his performances, I mean, who doesn’t? King of Aural Sex and all that, but, I guess you get over-saturated with voices sometimes, but I liked his performance, a lot. It was a sweeter narration style, than normal, at least I thought so, and I thoroughly enjoyed that. Emmett is a sweet character, sure he has the cocky, sexiness about him, but with Jenna he was always sweet, and I liked that, and that came across in Sebastian’s performance. If you’ve ever listened to a Sebastian York performance, he delivers, every time. The production had no issues that I noted.

This book was different. Stay with it. I almost dropped it about 1/4th the way thru because our \”heroine\” was behaving like a total jerk. But, it gets better once she quits being so self absorbed and starts to see him differently. Not one of KB\’s best but it is by KB so I will take it! 🙂 I like her writing and her snappy dialogue.
