First, I hadn\’t heard of this author before; second, I do not typically like college-aged protagonists; but, I was surprised to find I liked both the author and the characters. I cannot say the author wrote a profound story, but the plot was fine, the writing competent, and the character development about right. I will try this author again.

Because of Low (Sea Breeze #2) by Abbi Glines Reviewed by Cmsande Overall Rating: 2.5 Disappointing Insta Love Stars Narrator Rating: 4 Stars Heat Level: 1.5 very low heat stars. Recommend for 13+. There is some sex scenes in the book but very few. Little to no tension, flirting or sexy build-up. Type of Book Genre: #Romance #New Adult #Contemporary Romance POV: Dual POV done by the two main characters (H) Marcus Hardy and (h) Willow Low Fosters I will start by saying that I enjoy reading books by Abbi Glines and some of my favorites are the Rosemary Beach series and the Existence Trilogy. However I did not like this book. I was excited to finally get time to read this book because I liked Markus in the first Sea Breeze book Breathe. The Idea for the story was great but the execution was lame. The conflicts were either childish, trite or just over the top. I hate to say this because I know authors work very hard and I appreciate all they give but this book felt thrown together on the fly. Willows character comes off as childish, selfish and just plain dumb at times. She does absolutely nothing but complain and does nothing to fix her situations! And can I just say hoping that her sister will become a better mom if she doesn\’t have to work is the dumbest statement I\’ve heard in a while! Lows using Cage and leading him on was just sad (yes I know she told him repeatedly through the entire book that she wouldn\’t marry him but actions speak louder than words, so don\’t crawl in his bed every other night!) I really liked Markus in Breathe but he comes across as an asshole in this book. I absolutely loathe his reaction in the end! Very few redeeming qualities between our main characters, I feel cheated! The interactions between Marcus and Willow seem awkward and felt unnatural. Most of the time there inner monologue where boring, meaningless drivel! There was no real attraction between them or no sexual tension, just embarrassingly cringe worthy sex scenes! The ending was choppy with no real resolutions to the problems. One minute everyones mad and the next everythings fine! Urmm what just happened? I know my review is in the minority but Im at a loss as to why. What am I not seeing or am I reading the wrong book? I don\’t have the answers so all I can tell you is if you liked the first one and plan to continue the series then you might as well waste a day of your life and read this book. If you don\’t have a day or two to waste then skip it. I only hope the rest of the series isn\’t this terrible. Narrator: The Narrator\’s did a great job, its not their fault I didn\’t like the story! Book Tags: #Romance #NewAdult #Series #2012 #AbbiGlines #ContemporaryRomance #GoodReads #GoodReadsReviews #SeaBreezeSeries Original Book Blurb From GoodReads: Kindle Edition 294 pages, Published February 7th 2012 In my debut novel, Breathe, Sadie may have fallen in love with the teen rock star, Jax Stone, but readers fell head over heels for Marcus Hardy. This is his story Marcus Hardy had hoped to enjoy a year away at college while he put the summer hed rather forget behind him. But instead, hes jerked right back to the coastal town of Sea Breeze, Alabama due to a family crisis. His dear ol\’ dad found himself a girlfriend only a few years older than Marcus. So now his sister needs help dealing with their mother who is mentally falling apart. The only bright spot to returning is the fascinating red head who sleeps over several times a week. The problem is she\’s sleeping in bed with his new roommate, Cage York. Willow Low Foster needs a place to live. Running to Cages apartment every time her sister kicks her out isnt exactly a long term solution. Juggling her courses at the local community college and a part time job doesnt produce excess income. But Cage has a new roommate and suddenly sleeping over at her best friends apartment isnt such a bad thing. Not when she gets to see those sexy green eyes of Marcus Hardys twinkle when he smiles at her like he wants her there. Even though Cage seems a little territorial where Low is concerned, Marcus finds time to spend with Low without upsetting his roommate. Cage may use his small college baseball star persona to sleep with every hot female in his path but hes still under the disillusion that when hes through sowing his wild oats, hes going to marry Low. Marcus intends to change that assumption for both Cage and Low. Until his carefully laid plans come crashing down with a revelation he never expected. Hell have to choose between Low or his family. Because once the truth comes out…. theres no other choice.

Audiobook Because of Low (Sea Breeze #2) by Abbi Glines
I have come to enjoy YA even though I am not a YA. They have their good and not so good points. This book is very well done, great characters with a lot of story around them, good narration (this is just personal to me but I don\’t care for the gentleman that narrated; great as a guy but hate his girl voices) anyway, nothing should get in the way of the story and nothing does. It is a rich plot with twists I never saw coming. YA books tend to move a little slower but I just had to know what happened to these characters. For me no matter what the genre that is the mark of a good story. Well done and thank you!

The female voice was great. The male voice sounded much too old to be a 21 year old.
