Beneath a Scarlet Sky
Pino Lella is least bothered about the Nazis or the war going on. He is just a regular Italian teenager who is extremely obsessed with food, music, and girls. But, all his innocence-filled days are numbered. His family in Milan got hugely hit by the Allied bombs.
Pino Lella in the aftermath joined the underground-railroad to help the Jews to escape over the Alps. He falls for Anna who was a charming widow and she was six years older than him. To protect him the parents of Pinto forced him to enlist in the German soldier ranks.
It was a kind of move that they assumed would have him out of the fight. But, once Pino got injured, he got recruited as the personal driver of Adolf Hitler at the very tender age of 18 only.

The book remained engaging for most of its part and it was quite historically accurate as well. The action was a bit too much to be believable. Overall, a good book that is narrated outstandingly.
