As others have said, I’m finding I’m becoming more and more annoyed with Daniel. Nicola Barber is an excellent narrator. I do want to find how it all ends and I understand the time of the novel dictates Daniel’s attitude, it just bothers me in this day and age.

I don\’t know which I like better, the book itself or the reading. Rhys Bowen\’s writing is wonderful. I have read all the Constable Evan Evans books and loved each one, and am now enjoying my way through the Molly Murphy books. I have to read other authors books between them or I would devour them so fast that they would be all read before I know it. Ms. Bowen\’s books are fast paced and full of interesting characters. I also really enjoy Nicola Barber\’s reading. In the Molly Murphy books there are all kinds of accents that she has perfected. In this one there are Chinese, Irish, New Yorker, English…. etc. Fantastic!

Audiobook Bless the Bride (Molly Murphy #10) by Rhys Bowen
I believe Bless the Bride was one of my favorite Molly Murphy stories so far. I was so annoyed with Daniel in past books, always questioning her independence. He is less bossy in this book, so I was happy; Molly and Daniel finally got married. Molly\’s inner dialogue regarding her impulsiveness has to go; she always gets herself into bad situations that will never change, so she needs to accept herself and move on. The 10th book in the Molly Murphy series has a great historical view of life in 1903 New York City Chinatown, a well-written mystery, and memorable characters.

I love the lightheartedness of these Molly Murphy Mysteries. I also appreciate the detail of taking us back to the early 1900s New York. The performance of this audio version was amazing!

I love the Molly Murphy series and have consumed them all to this point. Central to her character are her bravery and impulsiveness, sometimes even recklessness. She’s also quick-witted, even if a bit naive, as she admits to herself. That’s why this story bothered me a little, because she not only behaves impulsively, but stupidly. Molly Murphy is anything but stupid! Here, her decisions are foolish, and her failure to anticipate and avoid possible dangers downright idiotic. Nonetheless, I remain her loyal fan and look forward to seeing how her life unfolds as wife and mother.
