Bride To My Brother’s Best Friend

Megan and her brother Justin grew up with Liam. Liam is a spoiled irresponsible rich boy who never grew up himself. Hes a playboy who enjoys women and drinking to excess. He calls on Megan in the middle of the night to bail him out of jail after his last exploit and based on her brothers long standing friendship with Liam she does so. When Liams father learns of his sons latest escapade he tells him unless he turns his life around he will be cut off financially. Liam is desperate to figure out what to do and goes to Justin for his clearheaded advice. Justin concocts a plan to fool Liams father, pretend to be engaged to Megan. In turn Megan, a starving artist would be introduced to high powered art gallery owners. It would be strictly a business arrangement, or would it? Would the long time attraction between Megan and Liam burst free with the continued close confinement? Would they be able to find their HEA? I was gifted a copy of this book. i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Liam and Megan. Liam and Megan grew up together after Liam became best friends with Megan’s brother Josh. Megan is an artist and trying to show her art to galleries in hopes of having a show. Liam is a rich playboy and he never takes anything seriously. When Liam gets in trouble again, he calls Megan to bail him out. liam’s father gets angry and cuts him off, telling him he has to grow up or he will take away access to his trust. Liam asks Josh for help and they decide to ask Megan to pretend to be his girlfriend. Megan isn’t interested in Liam’s money and decides to help him if he can help her meet with galleries. Megan and Liam kissed when they were younger and then Liam ignored her, making Megan think he was really a jerk. In fact, Liam had promised Josh he would never touch Megan. Now Megan and Liam are pretending to be in a relationship and Liam starts to feel something more for Megan. Megan likes Liam and the more they spend time together, the more she wishes it was real. I liked this book. I liked Liam, even if he seemed immature and spoiled. I think there was a lot more to Liam than he let others see. Megan was more responsible and i think she made Liam want to be better. good one.

Bride To My Brother’s Best Friend by Madison Wright

This is another short novel. It is complete as is, with much opportunity to be fleshed out. The characters are interesting, and beg us to know more about them. There is the artist woman, her brother and his rich, playboy, best friend, and the best friend’s dad as the villain of the piece. We are eager to learn more about each of them, even the villain who turns out to not be quite as evil as it is claimed he is.

The three hung around together as kids, and astonishingly, the woman is mad for the best friend and the best friend is mad for the woman. Too bad the brother made him swear to never “touch” his sister. Each pines for the other; neither makes a move and neither knows how the other feels.

After a life of debauchery, the rich friend’s father lays down the law. Six months to get his reputation repaired, or he is cut off. He goes to his best (and only) friend, and they come up with a plan to have the sister, who is a social media whiz, pretend to be his girlfriend and present his new image. She won’t do it for money, but for access to the rich guy’s dad’s high-brow art contacts, she agrees.

And they are off, pretending to be boyfriend/girlfriend. And it works like a charm, for his father and her art career. But as we might expect, keeping it fake is a challenge. As is communicating.

Mild *SPOILERS* There is a moderate sex scene and a quite nice HEA.

The last line is “Who knew that your whole life could be changed in just seven nights?” which is kind of confusing since the story spans over a year, or in some ways a dozen years. The story is broken into seven nights all right, just not CONSECUTIVE nights.

The story of Liam and Megan is the result of a promise Liam made to Megans brother when they were teenagers. He promised he wouldnt touch her or hurt her. Megans brother knew what Liam was like. He was his best friend after all; he just never thought that Liam could have real feelings for his sister. But that was a decade ago.
Liam has always played the fool, going out of his way to disappoint and embarrass his father. When his father decides to run for political office he needs to get his house in order. He gives Liam an ultimatum to get his act together and become a productive member of society or hes going to be cut off financially. Since their relationship is already dysfunctional, most of the reason he acts out, Liam realizes that his father isnt kidding and hatches the plan to make Megan his fake fiance. Unfortunately its very real for both himself and Megan. Neither one will admit this though. Finally, Liam makes his move and makes the relationship real.
Madison Wright has a good sense of humor to her writing. There were several spots I laughed out loud. I would recommend this book to everyone!
