This is the third book in the New York Knights Series, a Romantic Suspense. You have to listen to this Series in order for a better understanding of the world building. I love this Series. Coop and Anna\’s story is action packed, filled with danger, and twists and turns. Coop, an ex-FBI agent, is handsome and protective. Anna is naive, and reckless. They share an undeniable attraction. The storyline is captivating. I like these series with intertwined characters. Caitlin Elizabeth and Jacob Diem did a good job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series.

While I enjoyed this story I really didn’t feel a connection between Ana and Coop until almost the end. The story is filled with action, intrigue and suspense. It easily kept me going with all the mobsters that want Ana. She is in danger and doesn’t really know to what extent. I like her character as she is learning to fend for herself. Davis I got to know in previous stories. I liked him but felt there was more to his story. We learn more about him and his past. I just didn’t feel he like-liked Ana. He called her kid a lot. Overall I enjoyed this. The actual story was really good and unpredictable. We get to see a lot of characters we already know and love plus meet some new ones. I did listen to this on audio. Caitlin Elizabeth and Jakobi Diem are the narrators. Jakobi was a delight to listen to. He really nailed Davis. Caitlin was good too but I wanted to call out Jakobi.

Audiobook Captive Night (New York Knights #3) by S.M. West
S. M. West made me feel so many ambivalent emotions with Anna and Coop’s story. Anna frustrated me to no end with her spontaneous half-cocked decision proving how childish she is! She wanted to be taken seriously but continued to make terrible decisions that placed her in jeopardy and that of her protectors. Coop initially makes self-destructive choices because he didn’t have the closure necessary to move forward, but later struggles to juggle what’s required for his job versus his personal life. Thank goodness that both Anna and Coop get their happily ever after! My only complaint is that there were a few unanswered questions regarding Julian, Coop’s ex-girlfriend and Anna’s remaining family! Caitlin Elizabeth does a good job narrating and her voice appropriate for the age of Anna. Jakobi Diem’s performance is phenomenal as always!! He’s my favorite male narrator and has a sexy as sin voice that delivers every time!!
