I have just wasted several hours on a book I kept waiting to start but it never did. If there was a point, plot, story, or reason for this book please soneone tell me. One consolation is that now I have read this, whenever someone tells me they read a bad book, I can assure them there is one worse than what they read.

Currently half read, I am losing my interest in the story. First fiction after a year of graduate studies, I was excited via the reviews. I will finish but I have reading nothing that connects or involves me with the characters. It is a complete product, and of average craftsmanship.

Audiobook City of Ash and Red by Hye-Young Pyun

Could not get past the first 3 chapters it was so relentlessly depressing. Especially now, during this pandemic. It’s too real to be a fun read, and this is not a place where I want to lose myself. If you plan to tackle this book, gird yourself.
I had heard or read that it doesn’t get any better, so I saved myself some grief. Sorry.
