I greatly enjoyed this book, and can\’t wait for the sequel, but I had a problem with the narrator. She would mess up on people\’s voices, and confuse me as to who was speaking at times. Not to mention her extreme lack of emotion while she was reading. A few times, it seemed as if she\’d put some emotion into the characters voices, but then she\’d end in an almost dead-panned voice that made it sound rather flat and dull, and extremely annoying. If it wasn\’t for the narrator, I would have given it five stars.

If you liked her other books you\’ll like this one as it is basically the exact same plot. Girl who doesn\’t know she has powers rescued by an aloof boy who treats her like garbage. Still she manages to fall in love with him. Nice guy looks on from the shadows as the fight to keep a magical object from the hands of the bad guy. Don\’t forget the brother who has embraced the dark side under the tutelage of a power hungry madman who is playing supernatural geneticist. I liked it for the most part. What I didn\’t like was the reader who seemed to think shrieking was a good way to add emphasis to any scene with high emotion. Apart from that I could have replaced my self hypnosis tapes with her droning performance. Not the worst I\’ve heard, but far far from the best.

Audiobook Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1) by Cassandra Clare
Loved it!! If you liked the Immortal instruments you will love this book. Great plot, lots of interesting characters, I was a little worried because I didnt think Cassandra Clare could make a book as good or better than the immortal instruments; but WOW this book was just as incredible. Full of adventure, mystery, romance and will make you laugh, and make you want to just keep listening. The reader did an exhalent job with the voices and accents, kudos Jennifer Ehle. Im just disappointed I have to wait so long for the next book. However, this book was a great start to an intriguing series. So buy it! You wont be disappointed =]

Audio Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1) narrated by Jennifer Ehle
If you are between the ages of 10 and 16, and if you like Twilight, then you might just like this teenage romp through a very intriguingly magical version of 19th century London. However, if you\’re expecting a substantive plot, or believable characters, or exciting action between demons, vampires, and shadow-hunters… then you will be disappointed. While the setting is intriguing and well-described, the story itself is full of melodramatic teenage angst, trite love-triangles, and overdone emotional description. The world feels small and cramped with very few and mostly unbelievable characters. I listened to it all, but – in the end – found that I really didn\’t care what happened to the characters. Overall, it was not horrible. The world itself kept me interested, even if the plot could not.

I got this book because of my love for The Mortal Instruments series (also by Cassandra Clare). Going into it I understood that we would still be dealing with Downworlders and Shadowhunters, but instead of the story being set in present time NY, this time we would be in 1878 London. Aside from the century and the location, the basic plot is a lot like TMI series. But unlike TMI series, this book seems a lot slower paced. There were quite a few times when I was just going to give up, and stop listening, and boy, I\’m glad I didn\’t. Not just for the fact that I realized that Magnus Bane is in this book, but also because it was around the half way point in the book when things started to pick up. I will definitely be reading (or listening) to the Clockwork Prince when it is released, 12/6/11.
Know its free but it’s driving me mad only playing for 10 minutes at a time, can I pay somewhere to down load, if so where. Thank you.
