J.A Jance has become one of my favorite, preferred authors. The Ali Reynolds series is quickly becoming my favorite series of the four she has written: J.P. Beaumont (Seattle, WA Policeman Detective) was her first series, Joanne Brady (Cochise Country, AZ Sheriff; my favorite and my introduction to the southwest when I moved to Cochise County, AZ 3 years ago), and the Walker Family (Pima County (Tucson), AZ Sheriff) is her fourth series are all excellent. Having said that, it would be very difficult for me to decide which of the four series is my favorite. I supposed the favorite would have to be whichever series Jances\’ latest book is from. Can\’t wait to read more! My only other favorite, preferred authors is Kathy Reichs, author of the \”Temperance Brennan\” or \”Bones\” series, which I would assume most TV watchers and medical/forensic mystery readers know of. She writes several series as well: Virals (teenage mysteries)\’ Exposure, Code and Seizure. As both a retired U.S. Army NCO and forensic psychologist, I find these series extremely engrossing and highly enjoyable. I would recommend them to anyone who has an interest in mystery stories. The Reich series for medical/forensic/police mysteries and J.A. Jance for non-standard Sheriff/police mysteries. They are truly worth your time and energy. And, on Kindle especially, the price is inconsequential.

Cruel Intent audiobook in series Ali Reynolds
I really enjoyed Cruel Intent, enough that I have read it twice. The author has a main story involving a villain and a heroin plus a number of secondary situations that the heroine is involved with. There are several cliff hanging sub-plots and a fair bit of interpersonal humor. The sexual content of the tale is essential to the story but is handled well by the author. This Dirty Old Man likes the book.

Audiobook Cruel Intent by J. A. Jance
Love this author and the character of Ali Reynolds. Why I love reading this series regarding Ali Reynolds is that I feel I know the characters so well and you pick up right where you left off from the previous book. Love her butler, parents, son and friends. Always gets pulled into a mystery that makes the books exciting trying to figure out how things will be solved and how Ali will get out of a situation. Love that she can defend herself and is a strong woman.

I just finished reading the 4th in the Ali Reynolds series, Cruel Intent. I loved it! A lot of the returning characters were like getting together with old friends, and a lot of the new players would certainly be welcomed back by me. Ali is still in the middle of renovating her dream house, with the help of the faithful, self appointed manager nee personal assistant, Leland Brooks. Boy, I wish I had one of him in my life! In the meantime, her son Chris has a surprise announcement, and Ali\’s mom, Edie, is cooking up trouble with her new pink taser! Ali\’s contractor, Bryan Forrester, is suspected of murdering his wife. And boy, can Ali relate…she was previously accused of murdering her almost ex husband. So, while Ali is helping to defend Bryan\’s good name, she stumbles across a dating website called Singleatheart. I have a lot of friends, including my own daughter, who have used internet dating sites, and this storyline was just riveting to me. It scared the heck out of me at the same time. As in all of this author\’s books, it seemed well researched and certainly timely, with all of the scams going around on the internet. I was not disappointed in this addition to the Ali Reynolds series, and can\’t wait to get my hands on the next one!
