Wow was this one Hot, Hot, Hot!! I’ve read several of Donna’s Dark Kings series and they just keep getting better and better. Spoiler Alert though: There is a cliffhanger in this one. Which I absolutely hate, but for Donna and the Dark Kings, I’ll take it. Especially since it’s a hallmark of any 1001 Dark Nights novella, or otherwise we’d lose Sheherazade.

Because this is a novella the action starts fast and never lets up. I do love how she uses the illusion of a little magic to make the girl give in to her inner voice and let things happen. I think this is the only way the story could be complete in such a short time. If you try to look at Gianna’s emotional struggle from a sense of reality she would give in too fast, but with the illusion of magic, makes it work.

The best scene is when they are walking in San Marco square and she believes that it is very crowded and it gives Sebastian the opportunity to touch her a lot. Funny though, it turns out Sebastian kept leading her into crowds of people so he could touch her.

Dragon Burn audiobook in series Dark Kings

This novella (short story) is #11.5 in the series, “Dark Kings” by author; Donna Grant. I really enjoyed reading this novella (short story, there’s actually a small answer to one of the many plot twist that have been building throughout the entire series, NO, it’s not the answer everyone that has read the series has been asking and waiting for =). This story actually takes place in Venice, Italy and the HOT Scottish alpha male that’s able to shift into his natural form as a dragon is on a serious mission only to be swept away by his intended target. The romance was sizzling and yes, there’s some heartbreak, lots of action in this novella (short story) and the suspense in regards to the continuing build on the plot twist! If you are in a book rut, then this series and author are definitely worth a try! You won’t be disappointed! It will definitely take you on a dragon ride!

Audiobook Dragon Burn by Donna Grant

I have read nearly every book written by this author and I thoroughly enjoy them all — but her Dark Kings series is my favorite and I read every one of them more than once. Yes, these are hunky guys and the sex is pretty good and there’s actually a great continuing story line with characters who are so well defined I am always engaged — even when months pass before another book comes out. If you are new to this series I strongly suggest you start at the beginning to thoroughly enjoy the series. Yes, Con’s story is going to be revealed and there’s always the question of Rhi and will she or won’t she finally tell us.
Sebastian’s story was of necessity short and in typical dragon form. All the elements are here, it’s a quick read, but he was quite interesting and I would have liked to have a longer story. Perhaps he and his Gianna will show up in another book and we can read more of their story.

Audio Dragon Burn narrated by Antony Ferguson

Sebastian was once close to Ulrik and is doing everything he can to prove that he isn’t behind all of the attacks. He goes to Venice to gather information about Mikhel by way of his secretary Gianna. What he doesn’t expect is to be instantly attracted to her and want to protect her.

I really liked Sebastian and Gianna’s quick and steamy relationship. I really enjoyed the masquerade ball scene. *fans face*

I am quite interested in seeing what will Rhi do about the light fae court and Usaeil. Things are also changing for Ulrik and I can’t wait to see his choices in the future.

I love the name Sebastian and I’m in a HUGE paranormal mood lately. It ‘s all I want to read.

That said, I loved this book. No, I hadn’t read anything from this series beforehand. But I’ve since fixed that oversight. I’ve devoured the group of novellas called Dark Heat and book one, Darkest Flame. I’ve bought the first 5 books and will be devouring them in order. That’s what this book did to me.

Okay, I love dragons. I love strong women who bring strong men to their knees. I love how those strong men are super protective and how adorable they are as they figure out they’ve lost their heart. Add to that all the paranormal stuff and I’m hooked.

I NEEDED the back story. What is going on in this world where dragons are not know but actually belonged here before humans. Why are they fighting another dragon? Why do they protect humans? Why do they hide who they are?
