Dragon Emperor 10 (Dragon Emperor #10)

This series is still good but its been formulaic for a couple books now. It feels like you know 20-30 percent in there will be a fight with the recurring group of baddies, 1-2 get captured and then tortured in a relatively disturbing (and implausible, scream for me, tell me your secrets then die in the horrible way I promised) manner and go on from there.

This would be a lot better if the interesting female charachters like Valeera got more screen time, but she hasnt appeared in about 4 books now. We are stuck with the dryad sisters stealing the show for what feels like 3 novels now. Even though the three of them feel like a single moderately developed character. Their sexual innuendo jokes got old awhile ago. The new lizard girl seems interesting, but honestly we are hitting critical mass on characters to care about before they are just lost in the fray. I am hoping we dont get to the point there are 20-30 girls to keep track of, if I need an excel sheet or a flow chart to keep track we have gone off the deep end.

The world is still expansive and interesting, especially that bit harkening back to the past. But I would like some understanding on scale, how big are things actually. A one day march should be 20-30 miles, seems to be a lot more in terms of geography and climate.

First, I have to say this is my favorite series from Eric Vall the interaction between the characters is both memorable and humerus with plenty of action to keep it going, especially in the volume the tension between the new lady and the dragon lord is both incredibly funny but reminiscent of anime tsundere can’t wait to see how this blows up for her. Next, the world-building is incredible with mentions of ancient past and more but this leads questions like (spoiler alert if you haven’t read it yet) is this maybe future earth with the mentions of a time before demi-humans and if so what made the changes? and what do the artifacts have to do with it? Also in the other cities yet to come will there be more way to see the tension building between the king, maybe one of the noble families think that their heir should marry the princess instead, or again maybe they are all in with the green glass sect, but in the end, there’s so much the speculate about and so little time. I will be looking for more of this series.

Evan and his Harem move onto the next city on their journey. After having sex with the spirit of the sword he make soul bridges with each oh his women, growing closer and strengthening their bonds. The recover three deadly artifacts from thieves and in the process Even begins to breakdown the walls around Lady Neomie the self proclaimed lesbian mage. Will she succumb to Evan, we’ll find out in the next book!

Love this series. This book gives us more magic, more demi-humans, more treasure, more great action scenes, more powers, more temptation, and more schemes to stop. Cannot wait for book eleven.

Amazing addition to the series. Kinda feel bad for valerra, was hoping for possible inter actions with her since he is a way and updates on junior. But still looking forward to the next one with impatience.
