Five-Alarm Kisses

Raphe and Nina\’s story is Hot In Magnolia. These two true-to-life characters will have you rooting for them. He almost lost his life fighting a fire. Nina lost her ex-fiance in the same fire. They both feel guilty about the situation and have to overcome these obstacles to have a happy, committed relationship. Nina has a hard time trusting him because of his bachelor\’s past, and when some cast members of that past show up on his doorstep looking for a threesome, Nina runs away, but Raphe only wants Nina now. This story includes various supporting characters that will make you laugh. Rosie is a bawdy and unpredictable senior citizen with a penchant for moonshine and pot brownies. That basset hound, LuLu, sure gets around. Sit down, relax, and let Minette Lauren take you away for a while to Magnolia, introduce you to some new people, and keep up with some from the first book.

I read the first book in the series and really enjoyed it. The preview there to this book foreshadowed it would have the some similar comedic romance twist – the author delivered! I love reading books that are lighthearted, funny, and romantic that i can relate to. I laughed hard at some passages, and others could have been plucked out my life! I can\’t wait to read the next book in the series to see who in Magnolia is next in line for a whacky romantic ride!

Raphe Nash is a firefighter who nearly lost his life fighting a fire in Houston, Texas.Hes comes to Magnolia to be with family while mentally and physically recuperating from the trauma. He goes to work at the local firehouse. He also meets some very attractive women. He is particularly drawn to Nina Salvas, who ironically lost everything in a fire. She is the hot waitress at the diner owned by Raphes celebrity chef brother Riley and wife Melvina. The novel opens with an entertaining scene of Raphe thrown out of the local library because of the behavior of Lulu for whom he is dog-sitting. This novel is chockfull of lively characters, fine local color, and great romance. Southern comfort and charm at its best.
