Getting to Yes is a handbook to help you with the negotiation of the agreement without the need to give in. The book is written by Roger Fisher and it is co-authored by William Ury. Roger was a professor at the Harvard Law School. He is also the director associated with the Harvard Negotiation Project. William is an academic, writer, anthropologist, and negotiation expert. Roger Fisher has written together with another top book which is titled: Beyond Reason. Another good one from Roger is his Getting It Done.
The narration of this book is done by Dennis Boutsikaris. It was a job well done by the author especially with the inflections at the critical parts of the book.
Getting to Yes
This one is a straightforward book with universally applicable methods that are useful for negotiating all the professional and personal disputes without getting taken and without you feeling anger.
It offers a step by step guide and a proven strategy for reaching reciprocally satisfactory agreements in different conflicts in life. Those conflicts could be of any sort which may include parents and as well as kids, neighbors, employees, customers, corporations, bosses, diplomats, or tenants. Based on the work associated with the Harvard Negotiation project of the author. It is a group that continuously monitors all forms of conflict resolutions and negotiations. This ranges from the domestic level to business and the international.
Getting to Yes is a good book but cannot be called a great one. It has relevant information in bits and pieces. This was one reason that it wouldn’t have your attention throughout as some fluff distracts users.
