So you have your wonderfully juvenile setting, complete with colorful acronyms (your BOOBS is some kind of map thing, the PENIS is a hovercar), your game world, your dice rolling, and a couple of lovable hateable characters: Derek, who is SERIOUSLY into gaming, so much so that he’s too starstruck to see that the girl who brought him to the game zone is SERIOUSLY into getting in Derek’s pants. And while it might or might not work out, they travel through a sci-fi superhero setting kinda like Star Wars, and all kinds of wacky hijinx ensue. Personal favorite was Gleebleglorp, son of Fleebleflarg. And then the plot got REAL, y’all.
If dick jokes and ridiculous quests are your thing, if you like rolling dice in your books, this is a hit.

The author takes a trope – getting sucked into a videogame – and kicks out the walls with this foray into LitRPG. There are clever jokes, obvious jokes, jokes based on innuendo, sly humor, in-jokes… It’s a fast, fun read that leaves you interested in continuing the story.
I hear that book 2 is out today (August 7), I might just have to go pick it up!

Audiobook Glitchworld: Derek, Meredith and Sigourney by Damien Hanson Nolan Locke
Lots of action, lots of crunch, lots of laughs and lots of fun. I loved the book and the whole pyramid series idea is very unique. I don’t want to give any spoilers so I won’t go into heavy detail, but I look forward to reading the three other promised origin stories and seeing how Derek, Meredith and Sigourney deal with them in the future. 5 stars, I will keep reading this series.

Great book. Lots of dick jokes, main characters that actually change and learn as the story moves on, nerdy references, and the visual game scenarios. 5 stars because I will be reading the next one.
