Just finished book 7 in the series…..I have read every line of every book.
Book one began with a very compelling story and interesting characters….I eagerly wanted more.
All downhill from there….with the possible exception of Finch.
The dialogue both internal and verbal is just awful….with the authors crippling overuse of phrases and sayings and complete disconnect with how young people speak.
When will authors realize that working at trying to be “cool” has the opposite effect and ruins a story.
I have grown to dislike all the characters with the possible exception of Finch and I truly hate Harley’s character arc.
The solid rules, boundaries and logic of a created fictional world are absent, leaving readers frustrated and irritated.
All the characters with the possible exception of Finch have become tiresome, boring, forgettable and horribly predictable.
The 2 star rating is for the initial concept being great but the authors painful destruction of it throughout the series.

Harley Merlin and the Detector Fix audiobook in series Harley Merlin Series
I will keep reading because the series is so good. But it is so poorly written and the the characters are two dimensional. Love the idea of a strong female heroine and a strong female villain. The men are equally strong but also compassionate. Ideas are refreshing and creative. I just wish that it were written better.

Harley Merlin and the Detector Fix audiobook by Bella Forrest
I bought and read the first book and found it diverting enough. A California millennial witch foster child who discovers a magical world. The first book had some character development and was quirky enough. I bought several more books in the series. By book 5 I had had enough, set the story down and walked away. The plot was repetitive and completely predictable. There were long passages about teenage angst but little to develop the characters or the “magical world” in a detailed way. I got so upset with the same plot reversal that I could not tolerate any more of the story. This series was advertised as the next thing for Harry Potter readers. The language and story telling is not even is same class as JK Rowling. Completely disappointing. You are warned!

Harley Merlin and the Detector Fix audio narrated by Amanda Ronconi
I am left with no words with this book, Bella did it again and this time she really touched deep, it was completely unexpected and heart breaking. I cant wait for the next book to come out and put at end to this evil b****! Ugh excuse my language but this villain is something else and i know my girl Harley got this!

I honestly thought this was the last book.. then I saw the 8th one coming. Which us fine. I love this series. Love love love it! But to be honest, the mention of waiting for the 9th book is taking it a bit too far. U left suspense going on throughout the book, getting more intense with this book.. but just please let it end soon! I want to know the outcome and it’s getting tedious now.
