I had the pleasure of meeting this author at a recent signing. As we were talking and she was giving me the run down of all her books. She spoke about this book with such passion I just had to give it a read.

Bella and Lilah are running from a bad situation and trying to start over. Jackson a detective and also their neighbor knows something is up with them and is determined to figure out what it is.

I loved Bella and lilahs characters as I thought they were well developed and gave me all the feels.

Jackson I am kinda on the fence about. There were some points in the story I felt disconnected to his character and cannot pin point exactly the reason why. Their relationship started off as instant love on his part which I think maybe I would have like him more if he developed his undying devotion with a slower build up. Him declaring his love for her at the very beginning while stalking her from his bedroom window was a little weird. However as the story progressed and his character developed I found myself really liking him.

Overall I did enjoy this story and give this 3 1/2 – 4 stars and look forward to reading more from this author.

Hell and Back (Heaven & Hell #1) audiobook in series Heaven & Hell

Holy plot twist !!!! I’m on a Natasha Madison binge right now.

First she hooked me with her rom Coms and now this. Hell and Back is such an apt title for this book.

Bella has literally been through hell with her ex. The things he did make me want to seriously bring ungodly harm upon him. I was so angry and my heart broke for Bella and Lilah.

Jackson the neighbor that is like a gentle alpha. He stole my heart. The patience the devotion he has with these two wanting to just keep them safe I am literally a mushy pile of goo.

Along the way though there are some moments where I thought I was going to be sick. Sick with worry with heartbreak. And can I just say holy mother of plot twist. I didn’t even see it coming and I was beside myself.

Dayummm it just added to this already intense book. I was in shock and gasped out loud to the point where my hubby asked me what what’s wrong.

This was a fantastic book and dayummm can Natasha Madison write a story that has you all wrapped up.

This is one of the easiest five stars I’ve given.

Audiobook Hell and Back (Heaven & Hell #1) by Natasha Madison

This book really took me to hell and back!! Bella has been in an extremely abusive relationship for the past few years. One day she finally gets the courage to leave and do what’s best for her and her daughter Lilah. She moves into her deceased grandmothers house and tries to start fresh. But the thing is she really isn’t living. She’s in constant fear and not getting any better. Both her and Lilah are prisoners in their new home.

We have a hottie detective neighbor next door named Jackson. From the moment he met them he couldn’t help but feel protective of them. He forced his way into their life whether Bella liked it or not. At first I thought Jackson was way too pushy but he was exactly what Bella and Lilah needed. They needed to know it was ok to be happy again and not to live in fear all the time. I loved how good Jackson was when it came to Bella but especially Lilah. He was their protection the monsters.

In this book we had one heck of a plot twist I didn’t see coming. I was in utter shock. I had to get confirmation from a friend that I did indeed read that correctly. This part in the book really threw me for a loop. I loved this book as a whole. It showed us how to have courage and to move on after something terrible has happened. It’s ok to have hope. It’s ok to be happy. It’s ok to love again. It’s ok.

This was my first time reading anything by this author and it won’t be my last. The story flowed, the secondary characters were great and didn’t over power the story. This story just sucked me in and I didn’t let me go! I can’t wait for Mick (Jackson’s partner) and Marissa story next!!

Audio Hell and Back (Heaven & Hell #1) narrated by Joe Hempel Melissa Moran

Bella lived through and ran from the physical and mental abuse of her ex-boyfriend. She swore never to let a man harm her or her three year old daughter ever again. At the time Bella needed help the most, she learned her grandmother passed away and left her not only some money, but also her home. Its the assistance Bella needed to get back on her feet and start her life over.

Jackson is good guy and a detective with the local police department. He recognizes that Bella and her daughter are scared and running from someone. He is determined to make them feel safe, but he had no idea that Bella would also save him.

While I liked this book well enough, Ive enjoyed the authors other series (Love, Something So and Tempt) a lot better. I felt a stronger connection to the characters in the other books, that for some reason I felt was missing here. It was still an enjoyable read though, told from dual POVs with a happy ending.

3.5 stars

The first time Jackson lays eyes on Bella, and later her little daughter Layla, he’s a goner. And everything in him just focus’s on them and only them. Despite his job, and later his monster of a brother, he only sees his girls, only needs to protect them, be with them, take care of them. He’ll build a “castle with a moat” to keep them safe, and when that’s not possible- he’ll be front and center to rescue them. They are his world. A true hero book boyfriend. ;-

PS- the picture on the front is inaccurate. Yes, they are both blonds but, when he sees Bella he says she’s the smallest woman he’s ever seen, and he has to pick her up to be eye level with him. And she’s very wary, thin, beaten and bruised too- both she and her little 3 yo daughter. And any loud noises send them both running and hiding, while shaking in terror. He’s supposed to be so huge that he gets down on the floor so he does’t scare the little one. Bella is 24 yo, and I assume Jackson is closer to 30 yo since he’s made detective. Does this cover pic look anything like that? No. Just sayin’…..
