For the love of all things cinnamon rolls and unicorns, I just adore this book and couldn’t put it down. I love, love, love Lucas and not just because he’s sexy. He’s got a heart of gold and the way he always puts Tahlia first is definitely swoon worthy. He’s the real deal, someone that values the little things over monetary value.

I love how Tahlia takes a chance on Lucas, looking past his outward appearance to see the man inside. I love that she puts her family first, even it mean sacrificing her own dreams. Even when her friends drive her crazy, she wouldn’t change a thing about them. Tahlia is an amazing person inside and out.

This book is a phenomenal read and I love the witty banter, the close friendship the girls have, and the incredible passion between Lucas and Tahlia. I laughed, I cried, I fell head over feet in love. This book and this series is a must read. So if you are in the mood for a lot of sexiness in your rom-com, than look no further than The Boxer. I promise it will be worth picking up this book.

If you’ve read The Bartender by Piper Rayne, then you are familiar with Tahlia and how her ex-fiance cheated on her. Whitney and Lennon (her best friends) have given her six months to mend her broken heart, but are now sick and tired of not having their Tahlia back and are pushing her to live her life again. When they take her out for a night out, and she meets Lucas, her world is turned upside down. She embarrasses herself in front of a hot bad boy (and it is HILARIOUS) and she hopes and prays she will never see him again. Fortunately Lucas and Tahlia end up running into each other again, and things get very interesting for them.

I adored how these two were together. They were so similar yet so different from one another. Lucas was attentive, sweet, and did everything for Tahlia, and she was suspicious at first of it because she wasn’t used to it. Thinking their first encounter was going to be a one-night thing, watching Tahlia’s reaction the next morning had me laughing out loud and wiping tears from my eyes. The “parting gift” comments were hilarious and as funny as it was, I probably would have been the same way if I was in her shoes, not knowing what to do or how to handle the situation.

I saw a lot of myself in Tahlia’s character and it was easy to relate to her. Always trying to put on a brave face, and trying to please everyone, while putting her wants on hold. Lucas helped bring her out of her shell and pushed her to go after what she wanted. I loved watching Tahlia loosen up in this book and become less of a tightly wound type A girl and more of a fun loving girl who went with the flow. Granted she had trust issues and that’s something that Lucas did everything in his power to help her get over, but it’s understandable as to why she had them. When things got difficult for these two, I understood why she acted the way she did, and why she wouldn’t see reason at first. I’m glad she had friends like Lennon and Whitney though to help her through it and to see things in a more clear way so she didn’t lose the one person in her life that she needed.

This was a sweet and sexy book that grabbed me from the beginning and didn’t let go till the end. Lucas and Tahlia’s story was amazing and I fell hard for Lucas. He’s a mystery, he’s sexy, and he’s a bad boy with a good side, and he’s perfect for Tahlia! If you’re looking for a sweet and sexy read, definitely pick this one up today. Piper Rayne definitely did an amazing job with this one, and I can’t wait to read Lennon’s book, especially after reading the epilogue!

This is book 2 in the Modern Love series. Tahlia Santora was raised with money and to act properly at all times. She is also a Vice President in her familys business, Santora Sausage. Lucas Cummings is an amateur boxer who also owns a boxing gym. After Tahlia spent six month wallowing in her pain and betrayal after breaking up with her cheating fiance, her best friends drag her to a fight event where she meets Lucas. Lucas and Tahlia have instant chemistry and she likes that hes so different from her rich entitled ex-fiance. Tahlia has the most growing to do to get to the HEA in this book, though Lucas has some baggage of his own. I liked Lucas more than Tahlia and they may be why I did not connect as well to this story as I usually do with this author. Despite this, I enjoyed the interplay between the main characters as well as with the interactions with the secondary characters. This book has a little bit of everything – sweet moments, sexy times, strong friendships, painful pasts, and funny scenes. It is worth reading the rest of this series.

I loved the first book and that is where we first met Tahlia and we found out her fianc was cheating on her. So therefore, I personally would recommend reading the Bartender first, but you don’t need to, but it’s great so why not.

Tahlia’s ex fianc could have made a better gigolo than a fianc, but that’s not all so no wonder Thalia’s trust and faith in men is broken. However, she takes a chance on the underdog at a fight, she gets more than she bargained for with Lucas, he is cocky, charming and everything Chase is not, Tahlia is apprehensive, but can’t deny the chemistry.

So will Tahlia be able to take the chance on the bad boy boxer, who has the potential to repair her and let her be free to love again after the heartbreak.

I’ve loved the first two books from this writing duo and I cannot wait for Lennon’s book, I love how easily you fall into the characters story with little effort and it also has plenty of laughs too.
