My review of Howl & Shift, spoiler included: I was very disappointed with the pacing of this book. It’s more of a romance (kinda) than a mystery. The mystery drags on without much investigation. It’s more lack an after thought. P.S Calvin was the killer which we all kinda knew. The characters: The sisters were awesome! Abraham came of weak and more like a groveling fool. He let EL and Peyton walk all over him. EL was overbearing, childish, argumentative, spoiled and ignorant. She was just awful. She turned little things into big issues that really didn’t need to be. Ex., they didn’t tell her she may die after her first shift or if she mates with Abe she becomes an alpha couple. I mean….sure there is some level of betrayal but her over reaction was ridiculous. It was more like a child throwing a temper tantrum. I read the second book hoping EL would mature. I guess she did in the end..due to her own detriment. I won’t be reading anymore of this series. If it wasn’t for the sisters I wouldn’t of continued.

Had to purchase this after Shift to see the play out of the previous title’s cliffhangers. What a disappointment. The male lead has yet to be true alpha material. For goodness sake Elizabeth needs to quit throwing temper tantrums every two seconds. It made it very difficult to finish and admittedly, I skimmed several pages throughout. I would most definitely not waste my money on this again and have zero intentions of continuing on with the series.

Review #3

Audiobook Howl (Southern Werewolves #2) by Heather MacKinnon

I like the story, but the characters act very immature for being 28-30 years old! Love the character of Evey the best! The editing is what would have me give this 3 1/2 stars! I will continue to read this series. Please Ms. Heather, you need a good alpha or beta reader to get those errors!

Sometimes second books are a bit disappointing because the first was so amazing. But not this one! It answered what I was waiting for and gave me the answer I wanted. I felt frustrated, joy, curiosity, admiration, romance for the characters. Great second book- great follow up from the first.
