I Thought It Was Just Me audiobook free
The ultimate pursuit for perfection is remorseless and exhausting. We always spend a lot of energy and time in handling perception and setting up sensibly edited versions of ourselves for the world. We just could not switch off the tapes that add to our heads with some messages just like the title of this book – I Thought It Was Just Me (but it isn’t).
At first look, we might think that this is all because of our admiration for perfection. But, this is not true. We are attracted more to those who we consider down to earth and authentic. We love genuine people. We are more attracted to those who gladly embrace all their imperfections and also emit self-acceptance.
The book is good but it could have been a bit shorter to keep things to the point. The author could have done a little bit in sharpening a few of the key points and the examples. The narrator did a brilliant job especially in conveying the emotion with perfection which Brene might have been intending.
