If I Knew Then

I am not one to read any find yourself or self improvement books and I mainly chose this book because of the author. For those of you who dont know, Jann Arden is a Canadian singer/song writer with a quirky sense of humor. She has a lot to say about friendship, family and growing older. She tells the story of the household she grew up and how she figured to embrace life in her fifties. This review does not do this book justice, please do yourself a favour and read it.

Just wow. I came upon this book while searching for something to help my 56 year old struggling self. (Why are we always so hard on ourselves??) This book was so funny, raw, honest, uplifting, inspiring and helpful that I just went ahead and ordered Jann’s previous book, Feeding My Mother.

Who doesn’t LOVE Jann Arden!? A guick, gutsy, witty and wise read!

Jann Arden has always made me laugh! I’ve listened while she strolled down her road. I loved her conversations and knew I would love her book.This book has tied it all together for me.I can relate to so much of it and now Jann is teaching me how to go on.Jann,I CANNOT thanks you enough.Just WONDERFUL.

I loved this book, Jann’s words really make you contemplate your life, the choices you have made, and how you look at your future.
Jann states, “One of the main reasons I write things down is that it helps me to see my thoughts on a page, where they seem tactile and more real and more manageable.”
“Be yourself. Believe me, the sooner you are able to cheer yourself on, the better. Do what YOU do and Be who YOU are.”
“I think destiny is just another word for determination. I am where I am because I didn’t quit.”
This book will make you think differently, consider what makes you happy, and help you put your health first.
