Princess Ballot is a rocking book!! Oh my! Violet has been chosen to attend the special school for Royals. Little did she know what she was going to be getting into. Power hungry, politics, grudges, and a whole lot more happing at the school. Violet cant help but to stand out. Put in the attention of two hot royals and she is in for it. Jaymin Eve and Tate James have created a fabulous tale of Violets new world and her experiences. Violet is a strong character but like many orphans, she has a desire to be wanted, loved, and feel belonged. Be forewarn this story has some dark themes. And has one mother of all cliffhangers at the end. (totally still worth the read, dont let this deter you). Im so excited for the next book especially after devouring this one.

Violet Rose Spencer is chosen out of over 15 million entries for a full scholarship to the Arbon Academy. The Arbon Academy educates the rulers of tomorrow. Each future king or queen attends this prestigious academy. Violet, an orphan could only hope for a modest life of servitude. Now with this scholarship, she can have the life she never dared dream of. If she can survive the politics and intrigues of the Royals. I loved this book for the first word. Nothing is what it seems and no one is who they want you to believe they are. I love a book where you can\’t trust what you are reading. The tension built up until I couldn\’t read the pages fast enough. You could feel the darkness approaching and you suspected where it was coming from but when the secrets were discovered, it was more painful than expected. Intrigue and love do not mix. Violet is a worthy lead female. She\’s clever, secretive, fierce. Her enemies should be afraid. The guys were all drool-worthy. Obviously, Rafe with his complicated demeanor is my favorite but I really like the twins too. This is an interesting take on a bully romance. Not straightforward and fluid. With that ending, I can\’t wait until the next book. I hope it starts up exactly where this first book left off. I need to see Violet as Violence.

The Princess Ballot is the first book in the Arbon Academy series and man oh man does it not disappoint! When I first heard that Jaymin and Tate were going to be writing a story of an orphan who wins a lottery to enter the most prestigious academy around I was intrigued. When I first started to read, I immediately fell in love with Violet – she is a sassy, smart mouthed, determined young lady! She becomes friends with twins Mattie and Nolan, who by far are the best ever! And catches the eye of the two rival princes – not bad for your first day! This book is filled with intrigue, no one is who they seem to be and everyone has an ulterior motive. It\’s up to Violet to navigate her way through without shedding too much Violence 🙂 I absolutely LOVED this book and cannot wait to see what happens in book 2!

When things seem too good to be true, theyre probably not. For Violet Spencer, this should be her motto. But the allure of Arbon Academy and its royal students makes the fairytale almost seem real. Almost. I am loving this story. I love a badass heroine and Violet lives up to this persona, being so much more than what these royals expect. Mattie is a great best friend. Prince Rafe is the perfect hero (or maybe antihero) because he is a bit of an arrogant bully. Princes Nolan and Jordan are funny and loyal and theres an undercurrent of attraction there. And then theres Prince Alex, who seems like the perfect Prince Charming. The way Tate James allows us to experience the layers of secrets alongside Violet was brilliant. You can question motives and actions and statements almost in real time. Yes, while there is one hell of a cliffhanger, heartbreak and violence and vengeance are promised in the next book and I for one cannot wait!

I have been not so patiently waiting on Princess Ballot\’s release since I first pre-ordered it way back in September and I was so NOT disappointed. My only regret now is that I will have to wait for the next book to feed my new addiction. Princess Ballot has managed to expertly merge a few of my most favorite themes into one amazing story that I could not put down. Violet is my new girl crush. She\’s smart, she\’s funny, and she is holding her own in this crazy world of royals she unexpectedly has found herself in. She doesn\’t react in the typical fashion of a MC who has found herself in a to-good-to-be-true situation. She\’s not holding anything back. She is throwing herself into the opportunities coming to her and not taking anyone\’s crap! I cannot wait to find out more about Violet\’s past and see what is coming in her future. Please tell me the next book will be out soon!!! Oh yeah, also, just buy this book, you will not regret it!!
