I loved the Left Behind Series! Glorious Appearing was such a beautiful climax to the series. So I was really excited about reading this book. Sadly, it does not live up to the rest of the series at all. Much of the book seems to be a copy & paste from the Bible. It’s as though they couldn’t decide between a non-fiction or fiction book. The actual story part is very short and not much to it at all. No real substance.
There doesn’t seem to be much difference between the way the ‘naturals’ and the ‘glorified’s’ act, which I found strange. It felt like the ‘gentiles’ were constantly put down. At one point even referred to as being at ‘the bottom of the totem pole’. Seriously? We are the Bride of Christ! Adopted by the Father! Grafted into the natural vine. So I didn’t get that distinction. During the issue that arose with Kenny, it was inferred that Cameron and Chloe have sinned. Really? They glorified! The Bible teaches that when we ‘see Him, we will be like Him.’ Surely we will no longer sin. Yet the authors seem to give a different impression, unless they ‘forgot’ that these two were glorified. There were many sections I found a bit confusing and other parts seemed to be a bit contradictory. The ending felt very rushed. I was surprised that the authors didn’t do more with the releasing of Satan.
All in all … I have a Bible. This was supposed to be a work of fiction. A story that, like the other books, is told in a way that makes the prophecies come alive. This book doesn’t do that. I have zero problem with Scripture being used in a fictional story, but to copy and paste such vast sections of Scripture without explanation made it feel like the Scriptures and the story were two separate parts. It didn’t gel.
There is much more that could be said, but suffice it to say that this book just fell far short of the mark. I know there are many positive reviews for this book, but I hope the authors take note of what those on the other side of the spectrum have to say as well…

Kingdom Come audiobook in series Left Behind

Once again another book that Brian Godawa and Kirk Cameron are going to hate with a passion which is a good thing. 2nd another Christian book that makes Jesus seem distant and to uninterested and bored to walk and talk with his people even in the Millenial Reign. I can understand reverence but to only use scripture from the Bible verbatim when Jesus is present shows a lack of imagination. The authors could have taken those scriptures and weaved those scriptures into part of the story and made them sound like a story while not corrupting the scriptures. To the authors I think one calls it imagination. After everything I’ve listened to from audiobook 1 to reading this book because the snippets I heard of the different guy they have reading this book now on audio is meh so I just bought this book and and read it. After enduring it all I loved every minute of it until this one. I skipped not one page in all the other books but this one was a page skipper and it was the one I was most looking forward too. When it was good it was good when it was boring it made me almost consider going back to smoking. To the authors I’m sure your devoted following will sing your praises but me I don’t idolize you your just people who write a good story from time to time and you failed a bit on this one. I’ve recommended all my friends just rent this at the library and please stay away from the audiobook. The whole series put together a solid 3 out of five minus 2 for this book. Shame

Audiobook Kingdom Come by Jerry B. Jenkins Tim LaHaye

I have always found the book of Revelations to be a hard read, confusing, but the series really helped shed light on the end times. This second time around being more firmly set in my faith it just made me truly yearn for my everlasting home and to be with my father in heaven. This is one I would recommend to anyone who has questions about this time. Take advantage of the given scriptures throughout the story and look them up and study them to determine for yourself what is to come.

Review #4

Audio Kingdom Come narrated by Richard Ferrone

After reading through some comments on Left Behind’s final novel “Kingdom Come” I seriously considered stopping at “Glorious Appearing.” (Don’t forget books 14-16 – “The Rising,” “The Regime,” and “The Rapture” – of course; though I liked them better as books 1-3, leaving “Left Behind” as #4) “Glorious Appearing,” after all, did come together enough at the end to be a nice conclusion all on its own. But WOW am I glad I talked myself into finishing the series off the way the authors intended! I really enjoyed “Kingdom Come.”

In “Kingdom Come” we actually get the opportunity to know Kenney and others from his generation; and we get to see the troubles they have to face, even during Jesus’ 1,000 year reign on earth. About 100 years into Jesus’ reign a new defiant group of non-believers are popping up everywhere called “The Other Light” (TOL), or in some particularly extreme areas “The Only Light.” (How anyone would not accept Jesus as our Lord and savior at that point in history is beyond me!) All of the new found chaos has caused a need for a whole new group of believers similar to the Tribulation Force to emerge, and their goal is to infiltrate the “TOL,” and make any possible attempts to save young souls before it is too late for them.

I don’t want to give anything away, so the only other thing I want to stress is the fact that once I started reading “Kingdom Come” I could not put it down! It could have easily been a start to a whole new side series focusing on Jesus’ 1,000 year reign. I have a feeling Kenney and his friends could have had plenty of adventures left yet to come.

As a person who had very little knowledge of religion and the Bible before reading the Left Behind series I am now full of questions I simply have to find the answers to. I have a new found desperate urge to absorb as much information as I can pack into my brain, and I’m really enjoying it!

I would most definitely suggest reading this final novel in the Left Behind series! In my opinion it was one of the best.

Free audio Kingdom Come – in the audio player below

I started with the first book, because of the film based on the the first book, which I liked a lot. Then the books started to change more into a religious teachings rather then a good sci find or sci fantasy, which I would normally read. Strangely I read all the books very difficult at times to perfectly honest quite boring at times but I had to read them all. It hasn’t made me religious or want find god, I think in that world I would be undecided. I do think it could be a better world with no crimes and wars and violence, but a God who wants to be worship all the time well I think that’s a human point of view which is wrong, I rated all the books together got average of 3 stars sorry but too much scripture.
