*listened to audio version* **3.75 stars** I know Leo\’s Chance is a companion novel, but I enjoyed it more than Leo. It could be because I tend to like seeing the male\’s POV better then the female\’s, or it could be that I just wasn\’t a huge fan of Evie in general. She came off desperate in her book, which was redeemed slightly through the alternate POV in this book. I did skip foward a few times when scenes were almost word for word repeats from the original in Leo. l was pleased I didn\’t have to do it more often as I\’ve done before in other alternate POV books. I\’m pretty sure I would have liked both books combined with more of the male POV than the female better than I liked either of the separate POV books. If such thing existed it would earn a 4 star rating from me. After having that \”eh\” sort of feeling about the first book, I was glad the second book held my attention. I\’m still willing to try more work from this author in hopes that I find something I love. *audio portion* Joe Arden brought life to this book. Not only was the writing itself better in this installment, but the audio improved as well.

Leo’s Chance audiobook in series Sign of Love
Leo\’s Chance is the sequel to Leo, and it is told from the viewpoint of Leo, or as we were reading in the first book Jake, which is what he went by when he turned 15 and was adopted. When he meets up with Evie again, he told her he was Jake. In this book, we find out what happened to Leo from the day he left Evie, and went with his adopted family, up to the present. We also understand why he decided to go by Jake. This is a poignant tale of Leo being a victim in his real parent\’s hands, and in foster care, and then finally when he is adopted at 15, only to be betrayed by a woman who had her own agenda for adopting a young teenage boy. Despite everything that happens to him, he manages to rise above it painfully, one day at a time, and after he gets into a crash that has him in the hospital for almost a year, he finally gets help from a psychiatrist who helps him see that he is not to blame for what happened to him. Through all of this there was one constant theme and that was finding the girl he left behind at 15, and had loved innocently since the day he met her when he was 9 years old, his Evie, the little girl who made him feel like he was so special and that belonged to him until he was 15 and started loving her differently and told her to wait for him-she belonged to him! Then Evie does not see or hear from him until 8 years later. Read this book and take this journey with Leo, and Evie and watch how beautiful love can really be, even after everything they grew up dealing with. There is so much unhappiness, sadness, feelings of despair and no self worth, a few twists to the plot that will keep you guessing and wondering how anything can come out of all of this negativity and the long road to healing and happiness that will ultimately be claimed by both of these people. I gave this book 5*****heartbreaking stars, and I just have to say that every book I read by Mia Sheridan is always so wonderful, a journey and a glimpse into a character\’s life and mind.

Audiobook Leo’s Chance by Mia Sheridan
Once again, Mia Sheridan has written another winner. This is a book you won\’t put down until the end. This was such a heart warming story of Leo & Evie. Both were foster children that grew up poor and who knew each other from the neighborhood they grew up in. They fell in love with each other from an early age. When Leo is adopted by a family in California, he leaves Evie promising her that he would keep in touch and then come for her when she turned 18. When he never came for her and didn\’t keep in touch, she moved on but he was always there with her in the back of her mind. But he does come back and he does find Evie and begins a relationship with her all without her knowing who he really is. This was Leo\’s point of view and I would highly recommend that you read the first book, Leo. Both books are beautifully written with characters you can relate to. I love Mia Sheridan\’s books and would highly recommend this one.

Audio Leo’s Chance narrated by Joe Arden
Minor Spoilers Alert!!! I was fascinated by Leos side of the story, and believe it or not, I fell in love all over again. How was that possible considering I knew Evies side of this love story? Author Mia Sheridan sprinkled her fairy writing dust and poof! It happened. I fell hard. Again and again! I read Leo and Leos Chance back-to-back and yet all my favorite moments from Leo (told from Evie\’s POV) hit me just as hard if not more in some cases. Discovering more about Dr. Foxs role in Leo/Jakes recovery was an added bonus as well. The doc was one of those characters that I like to call a good egg, and certain events would not have been the same if not for him. He was also the father figure that Leo needed at this point in his life and rightly labeled \”Confucius\” by Leo in a flashback scene during his hospital stay. Howd you go from computers to psychology? I decided that computers are too predictable. I like people better. They keep you guessing. He winks. I laugh. Man, that makes one of us. Thats exactly why I DONT like people. Ah, no, son. The complexity of the human heart is something to be awed by. If people acted in a predictable way, determined solely by a set of data, you and Evie would have been much different people. Respect the mystery. Hey Doc, has anyone ever mentioned that you have a tendency to sound like a fortune cookie? He laughs out loud and stands up to leave. Ill see you next week, son. See ya, Confucius. I could go on and on since I was a bookmarking and highlighting fool during this read. But Ill restrain myself and stick with these additional 5 Outstanding elements/moments that I loved. ***** Don\’t read any further if you prefer to be completely surprised! ***** 5 Outstanding elements/moments: 1. The boy part Hulking out scene I shared the crap out of this scene with book buddies whod already read it. I giggled every time, true story! 2. The peacock scene gah, loved, LOVED it! 3. The Worlds Greatest t-shirt scene I loved how Leo took Evies theory about having enough moxie of to claim that you are or a product is the worlds greatest to heart. 4. All of their sexy times, duh! They were so well placed and written. 5. Private and public displays of affection I simply couldnt get enough of all the little random moments of affection when theyd hold hands or one of them would hug the other. Swoon! And then Mia gave us a new time perspective in the epilogue told from Evie\’s POV in addition to a longer look at Evie and Leos happily ever after. I seriously want to reread both Leo and Leos Chance again like right now. Thank goodness Leos Chance and all of Author Mia Sheridans other Sign of Love novels – Stinger, Archers Voice, Becoming Calder, Finding Eden and Kyland are now currently available on Audible.com making future rereads easy and guilt free for this audiobook junkie. Coming up next this fall from Author Mia Sheridan is Grayson\’s Vow, A Sign of Love novel focusing on the Libra legend/astrological sign. Obviously, it will be a must-read for me.

I love the characters in this series and every story shows how they get over their own personal hurdles and the hurdles they have as a couple. The writing was emotional and grasped me as a reader throughout the book. Even though it was a retelling in Leo\’s POV I feel like it added a lot to the storyline and numerous new scenes were added that were just as emotional.
