Love on Beach Avenue (The Sunshine Sisters #1)

Save yourself! The two main characters are horrible humans and not worthy of your time. Neither one of them were remotely likable. I didn\’t even care if there was a HEA. Truly torture to get through. Like this author, but I want my hours back from listening to this.

*SIGH* I loved this one from beginning to end! Avery and her sisters are wedding planners and Avery\’s best friend from college is getting married and wants her to plan her wedding and fit it in this summer. No problem except it also comes with her brother as her best man and Carter and Avery don\’t get along…until they do. This is a slow start and Carter doesn\’t believe in love but when he falls, he falls hard. This one was so, so, SO good. I cannot wait for the rest of the sisters to get their happy too.

Jennifer Probst is one of my favorite authors. I\’m so glad I picked up this audiobook. It was a sweet, slow burn romance. I cried at times, I laughed at times. There were a few times I got really frustrated with the hero and heroine. But I really became invested in the characters. I cannot wait for the next audiobook. Brian Pallino and Samantha Brentmoor were excellent narrators. Two of the best I\’ve heard. They truly brought the book alive. Wonderful performances.

The narration was really good, and the story was well-developed. This is a contemporary romance, enemies-to-lovers, with a low level of angst, some humor, and a lot of emotion and heart. The extended family and side characters were well-developed as well, and it left you feeling satisfied.

Love on Beach Avenue is the first installment of what promises to be at least 3 about the Sunshine Sisters who are wedding planners. It was a pleasant read, well written and reads a lot like a Hallmark movie. I really enjoyed learning about the sisters and their personalities. This one was about Avery. She\’s the oldest of the sisters and assumes the lead in their business that they took over when their parents retired. I had a hard time with Avery\’s love interest, Carter. Carter was a jerk! All sweetheart this and sweetheart that. He is the older brother of a bride, who is also Avery\’s bestie. And his dog, Lucy, drove me crazy! I\’m glad his sister was able to give him the \”come to Jesus\” lecture he needed. I loved Taylor and look forward to reading her story. And Zoe is a doll. I have become vested in the characters and look forward to following the Sunshine Sisters through each of their individual stories. I have to say that going back and forth with the male and female narrators was very distracting and off putting. I had a hard time following a higher tones female narrator, then having to switch to listen to a brooding lower toned male narrator. I did not enjoy the audible version of this book as much as the kindle version. This book is great for young adult and older. Great for a summer beach read because it\’s so easy to read.
