I was really happy to see that the next book in the series was going to be about Tom. I have to say that the picture I had in my mind of him physically wasn’t anything like he was described in this book. I was happy to change my imagination to a sexier, muscular man than the other that I had imagined before.

I was hoping throughout that we would learn more about Tom and why he was/is the way he was/is. What his back story was. What his family life was like. I had to wait longer than I thought I’d have to but was thrilled to finally have the curtain pulled back and got a glance around.

It was telling for me when Tom went into the chapel at the hospital when Tru was in the accident. That’s the first real glance you get at who the man behind the mask really is.

I have to say that I was also surprised and intrigued when Jake put Tom in charge of Lyla’s band. Band manager. He was the last person I would have thought.

LOVE LYLA!! LOVE HER! I love me a strong leading lady. She doesn’t disappoint. Loved the relationship that she and Tom built and loved how it all began. Loved the push and pull between them throughout. Definitely felt like slapping them both upside the head a few times.

Great book. Highly recommend.

Its like Im climbing out of my skin and into here. I cant get enoughbe close enough to her. This is insane. Ive never felt like this about a woman before. Im always in control. I take my time. Women beg me to give it to them. But thisfeels like Im the one begging her.

The Mighty Storm series is without a doubt one of my all-time favorite rock star romance series, if Samantha Towle would only agree to writing more, I would happily read every. single. one.

Taming is Lyla and Toms story and it goes without saying that this is not only going to be a bumpy ride, but a wild one as well. Lyla Summers has the WORST luck with men; it would be comical, if it werent so incredibly sad. When we begin we are witness to yet another of Lylas heartbreaks, I say this because Lyla has had more than a few. This one is the worst one you could ever possibly imagine. Its heartbreaking and at this point Vintage (Lylas band) has just opened for the first time, for The Mighty Storm, this should be the happiest night of her life, instead Lyla is devastated. After that night, she swears of men. Completely.
To use her words her Virginia is closed for business. *snicker*

Tom Carter, well need we say anymore? The man is legend, known for his talents on the bass, in bed, out of bed, against a wall, in a closet, well you get the drift. Tom likes the ladies, and the ladies love Tom. Tom has been interested in Lyla for some time, having tried to lure her into his bed on more than one occasion, but Lyla is having none of it. She knows that Tom is just another mut, and after having her heartbroken several times, shes not buying what hes selling.

I hate the way my body reacts to Tom Carter. Every single time I see him, my Virginia lights up like a gasoline on a spark. I might dislike him, but my body doesnt. In fact, my body like Tom a lot.

Tom Carter loves a challenge, and Lyla is stubborn. Tom can be a complete a** and Lyla is fierce. Tom is not giving up, and Lyla refuses to give in, hormones and lust be damned. But a twist on fate lands Tom alongside Vintage for their very first tour, as manager, and this means, being in close quarters for weeks. No longer able to avoid each other they strike up truce, theyll be friends. Just friends, and always professional. I laugh at this, because that isnt going to last 5 seconds.

And just so you know, I might have gone through a lot of women in my time, but when I f**k I f**k long and slowreal f**king slow.

Taming The Storm is like candy. You cant stop, put it away or put it down. I loved the sexy scenes, I loved the banter between Lyla and Tom, and she gave it back just as good as Tom dished it out. Lyla is the perfect heroine; shes strong, sassy, independent, talented, smart and no ones pushover. Tom, hes Tom, but in this book we get treated to many other sides of this super sexy mut. Hes caring, possessive, protective, thoughtful, and beyond sexy. He gives Jake a run for his money! That dirty mouth of his. *fans self* Im a huge fan of this series, and Ill be devastated if we never get another book with these characters, but if this to be the last, then Samantha Towle took us out on a seriously high note. I just hope that sometime down the road, we get Dennys book, and maybe even Smiths at some point. The writing is fantastic and its an incredibly easy read. Youll lose yourself in the pages within minutes. And the men of Vintage, LOVED THEM! May I suggest books for each of the guys, Chad, Sonny, Cale? It would be amazing. Im just sayin

TMS and Vintage Fan for Life! ROCK ON!

No matter whats happening between Tom and me, my body will always want him.

Audiobook Taming the Storm (The Storm #3) by Samantha Towle

I didn’t like the characters in this book very much, but the book itself was very readable, I wasn’t bored or wanting to skim parts.

Just once, when I’m reading one of these books, when the guy treats the girl like absolute crap, I want her to walk away and not look back. Of course that never happens, but I keep hoping!

When we finally get some insight into Tom, the book is nearly over, and I’ve spend the first 90% disliking him. Even with his tragic past, it doesn’t excuse the awful way he treats women, especially Lyla. And the scene where he’s out of condoms and Lyla balks at going without is gross. I completely get why she was hesitant, he’s a complete manwhore (or “mut” as Lyla puts it). So instead of waiting (or going to the drugstore), he pins her to the bed until she relents? I thought that sort of “forced seduction” crap went out with disco and polyester leisure suits. Yuck.

Lyla seemed to be a strong woman except when it came to Tom, then she turns into a simpering idiot. I was hoping to get more story about her father, that seemed like an interesting storyline, but nothing happened with it.

There is a bit of Jake and Tru in the end, and it was nice seeing them again.

Audio Taming the Storm (The Storm #3) narrated by Aletha George; Nelson Hobbs

This is the fabulous 3rd instalment to The Storm series.

I’m so glad Tom got his own book. Tom is the bass guitar player in TMS, his ego is as big as the band he’s in ! He’s a real player but he’s also really funny and charming, you can’t help but love him. Also loved Lyla’s character too, she’s sassy and funny too. She’s sworn off men and love and definitely Tom ! But thrown together for six weeks, can they resist each other, can Lyla resist the biggest ‘mut’ of all ?

This is a sweet, funny, sexy and a little emotional read. Had me laughing out loud a few times then feeling a little sad towards the end. And the sexy scenes are HOT, Tom is a real dirty talker, which I love.

Absolutely loving this series, I recommend you read them all. Brilliantly written by Samantha Towle 🙂 5 fat stars *****

A few years back I fell in love with Jake Wethers the sex on legs frontman of fictional rock band The Mighty Storm, the story of how he found love with his childhood friend Tru just blew me away, during the novels The Mighty Storm and Wethering the Storm we found out a little about some of the other members of the band, Denny, Smith and the most notorious man whore that is Tom Carter, the bass player who is a total player every hour of every day, the man is powered by Duracell, he is constantly on the go and I am not talking about just walking about.

This book is about him, can the most unlikeable member of The Mighty Storm worm his way in to our Jake Wether clad hearts? Yes he can, the rat!

Lyla Summers has sworn off men, ever since she found her brother in a comprising position with her boyfriend, yes thats right her boyfriend, she has tossed them all to one side and concentrates on her up and coming band Vintage.

Vintage are signed to Jake Wethers record label and the story starts with them about to go on tour, at the last minute disaster strikes and their manager is unable to make the tour but Jake comes to the rescue with a new manager, one with a lot of experience in the music industry and also a close personal friend of his – Tom.

Tom’s abysmal ladies man reputation does procede him but Lyla and the other members of Vintage have to go with it, this tour is going to help them become stars. From the get go Tom is a total flirt trying his best to get his way in to Lyla’s good books and pants but she is having none of it. But can he prove to her that he is not all bad and can Tom finally come to realise that there is more to life than different city different woman/women!

Taming the Storm is a steamy hot read, Lyla is given the nickname Firecracker by Tom and she does live up to it but she is vulnerable at the same time, her attraction to Tom is driving her mad and she does not want to just become a notch on his considerable bed post but as things start to get hot and heavy she realises that this man no matter how bad he has been in the past might just be the one for her.

Samantha Towle hits the nail on the head again with this the final book in the Storm series, Tom always struck me as a total dick to be honest but this story has shown him in a totally different light and we have also found out a bit more about his back story and why he is the way he is.

A fantastic hot and steamy read!
