Mating Theory

Delicious story. Sinfully delectable. Made this southern belle blush. Emma and Tor are aural gold. Wow. I lost myself in this sumptuous narration. This should come with a warning: KF (knickers flammable).

Skye Warren has a panache for writing books that border on taboo. Mating Theory fits that criteria. There are cameo appearances of Christopher and Harper from Survival of the Richest in this book, while Sutton and Ashleigh are center stage. The book has lots of emotions in it, and I felt the author/narrators did a great job in bringing feelings into the story. The details of \”pets\” really added another level of emotions. Both Tor Thom and Emma Wilder brought the characters to life, and sounded like they were perfectly cast for Sutton and Ashleigh. The book has some surprising twists which I fully enjoyed.

Man, Sutton and Ashleigh\’s story doesn\’t disappoint. I will say, Harper can be selfish asf. She has a lot of nerve, that one (read and say you disagree). This book reminded me of Pretty Woman, love the nostalgia of it with the tie ins to Robert Frost. All I have to say is all is well in Tanglewood – until the next story. Which I\’m eagerly anticipating from Skye Warren. *There is an error in Chapters 22 – 25 where the story got edited wrong it cuts and then the conversation between Chris/Sutton wasnt fully included (Chris brings Sutton barbeque to his office) I\’ll have to go to Kindle to find the book to know how that bro session went.

Skye Warren is a relatively new uthor to me and I have no idea why that is. I have listened to the narrators Emma Wilder and Tor Thom before and they did a great job with the narration of Mating Theory. The story was well written, engaging and I was engaged from the first to the last chapter. I found the story entertaining and the narrators certainly brought the story to life for me.

I listen to romance so I can hear a good love story. Sometimes a little fluffy, sometimes a little dark, my mood takes me to the choices. Skye Warren always fills my needs when it comes to a little taboo. Mating Theory is just that! A story that has a little bit of fluff, a slight darkness and some forbidden romance all mixed into passion and feels that kept me engaged for hours. Ashleigh is a teen on the streets, looking for a warm place to stay and her next meal. What is the best way to make money to get there? Proposition the man in the suit. Sutton is devastated as the two loves of his life are getting married. Bumping into this girl is an accident. He is in a bad place, but does he take advantage? Both in despair, they find a kindred soul. But does it end in happiness? Love, love love this premise. Ashleigh is so broken, but not so bad that she can\’t be put back together. Sutton is mature enough to know what it will take to get his soulmate to him. It\’s both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Warren adds her signature steamy passion and taboo into this making it a delicious listen. Tor Thom and Emma Wilder are a fantastic team and are perfectly cast for Sutton and Ashleigh. Thom can play the broody, alpha protector perfectly, giving the inflections and nuances to Sutton making him very realistic. Wilder creates Ashleigh with a mature innocence and lets us feel her pain and love. It\’s a fantastic listen, one you do not want to miss.
